Hmm, rhythm guitar sounds a bit low to me, can't really hear it in the big string sections. Bit too much reverb all over too I reckon, other than that, nice job.

Yah, a bit of Z3ta synthbass slipped in accidentally

Will fix :D
Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.

Uhm.... Gweelth indeed asked me to do some FUSION SOLOING.

Well, even if I thought I'd record the damn things straight away, all I can post for now is mediocre previews (phone alarm all the last hours, almost until now).
But well, griels (and Ben, topaz), just listen and tell me which way you prefer (if one at all) and I'm recoding things properly tomorrow evening.

Name says it all, some sorta scat along with the guitar...

Noodling.

Actually, I could do a bensonish version without my (unquestionable mediocre) voice as well.

love the first take :D

would sound cool if you gradually built up the solo and maybe bring the scat in halfway thru to the end.

top stuff Sascha ;)

Im dead tired... without sitting at an instrument Im sayin it's an E6....

remember the notes off hand ? :)
Can't remember the exact notes of the piano now, and I'm at work so can't check... But I can remember the shape of the chord I played!

Code: Select all

  E ------3---
  B ------1---
  G ------2---
  D ------1---
  A ------x---
  E ------x---
but slide up to ... err.. I think the 6th fret, but not sure... it's a diminished with a the high string up a fret,

I have no idea what it's called!...:)

Ben
1st inversion min b6+7 lol At least in the context you played it haha. What an odd chord. I even double checked on some chord finders (piano and guitar) and none of them picked it up at all. What Id normally say is just a min7 with a diminished 5th in the root. That's still bloody odd? I thought about it so long Im not sure I even wrote out what I figured.

it's just garbage that sounds cool

Er, is it a minor 6th? It's inverted with the flatted third at the bottom, and the 6th ringing at the top...

At the first fret, (1 2 1 3) it's Cm6th...

Slid up to the sixth fret, it's an Fm6th.

If you take it as an Fm6th it makes no sense because of the chord preceeding it...

:-o  Alright, I'll give you that... seeing as I hadn't heard the tune before I commented, I was wandering aimlessly. You did say "in context", which I didn't... so the gold star goes to you!

Griels and Sasha... there's something very steely dan about the fusionish version... great stuff! I can't wait to hear the whole thing.

And Sasha, if you're going to hell, I'll join you because the music is wonderful!

Thanks Garret! After that wonderful remix you did recently no doubt you have already been consigned by Donkey Tugger to 13th Hell. Think I'll join y'all. The devil has the best tunes as they say :D

Anyway, both takes are great, but I personally prefer the Bensonish version, which seemed to be the general consensus... SF should be working on it today hopefully. :D

yeh, im joining ya in hell.

I hear it's mostly fine wine, sexy women, good food and top notch weed there anyway :D

and as long as the music is as good as the stuff you are making, stuff heaven.

thanks again Ellis, a real plesure to play on.

 ... You can both have gold stars... ;)...

So if we're all going to hell for playing on Griels track, does this make Griels the devil! :-o ...

might explain the damn fine music then :hihi: ...
