I know a number of programmers read the forums here.
Juce makes it easier to port to OS X.
I like the simplicity of Tracktion's built in sampler but wish it contained more features.
Ableton Live has a decent built in sampler called "simpler". Perhaps this would be a good staring point for comparison. It lacks layering but has many other useful features in a simple gui.
Most of the shareware sampler's available for OS X are poorly laid out, or bloated with features that eat cpu. Is anyone working on something better?

i know this request is very old...
is there a chance to get a more powerful sampler in tracktion?
i am thinking of basic features like:
*loopzone and directions
*adsr
*lfo
*full automation support
...
i would use a third-party plugin but you cannot drag and drop files from tracktions browser to third-party plugins
thx

There is also Renoise Redux sampler that is on Mac/Windows/Linux ... I have it but haven't quite got my head around it completely ... It's pretty cheap ....$60 I thinks ....
