Has someone already created a Shimmer Reverb in MUX?
Would be great if you can share the preset. :D

What exactly is a shimmer reverb, any examples ?
Beauty is only skin deep,
Ugliness, however, goes right the way through

Here's an article by Sean Costello (Valhalla) on building one: "create a feedback loop, incorporating a pitch shifter set to +1 octave, and a reverb with a fairly long decay time. By controlling the gain and equalization of the feedback loop, and the lengths of the various delays within the loop, the temporal evolution of the sound can be altered...."

Here's another approach: "place a standard chorus plug‑in before an echo/delay plug‑in (typically with a 150-300ms delay time, and a little feedback): the delays have the effect of breaking up the modulation pulse (especially if you use a multi‑tap delay), which can sound less obvious than a straightforward modulated delay. You could combine the two effects by using chorus before a very gentle modulated delay, set at a different LFO rate from the chorus plug‑in. Placing chorus before a reverb fed from an aux send also adds a nice swirl without your having to effect the dry signal."

I'm not good in building effects, but I like to experiment so tried to do something but lost in unconventional sounds as usual :hihi:
I attached the project if you guys want to lose a few minutes,is not a shimmer reverb but it sounds interesting.

This appears to be a nice explanation, and instruction on building a shimmer reverb: https://www.propellerheads.se/blog/buil ... mer-reverb

If that is true, there is "The Spiral Echo" patch in the factory library.
Just add a reverb behind the pitch shifter.

Should take you 5 minutes :)

Thanks, but more than 5 minutes of variety in that combination! In the Spiral Echo I turned the Delay down and the Pitch and Down/Up to up; followed by MuVerb with a HP (2kHz) and highQ (~25) filter which caused a 'shimmer' when the Echo pitch went up on cymbals and hihats; it gets otherworldly on plucked strings when changing Turbulence.
