I had no idea this was even an option until I started to dig deeper than usual into Melda's tweaky multiband stuff, and I started watching the YouTube videos on the Melda channel.
  1. Set multiband Melda plug to use Level crossover
  2. Create modulator modulator, link it to the crossover level control, triggered by input level
This opens up a whole new world for all sorts of melda multiband stuff, but for me specifically I'm going to be using it with MMultiBandSaturator. In most saturation tools, the more a signal is pushed means more distortion and harmonics are present (and conversely, less; less). But now I can make it introduce a different harmonic profile when the level gets higher - for example, incrementing the amount of 3rd harmonics upwards for each successive band. This makes it so I can make super-customized "tape vs. tube" saturation effects.

Kudos, Vojtech.

Yes, I agree, a good feature - I did a video a while ago using the level crossover, starts around 1:20 (already embedded in the link):

Sounds good! Do you have a sound example?

Another good use of the level crossover is to set the transient modulation so that you can independently effect the attack and release.

Oops, please ignore the "modulator modulator" there, I think my brain took a nap for a second. I meant "level follower modulator"

ZentralMassiv, I'm going to play with it over the next week or so. Once I cook up some presets for MMultiBandSaturator I'll be sure to post them here.

That is a really cool feature. I had no idea you could do this. I imagine you could do some interesting ducking delay effects with this as well.

... so we can build the absolute over-hyper- Noisereduction- tool as a combination of gating & spectrum corrections... Wow, it will be worth investing a little experiments.
I'm doing some nature recordings in the last days and the best noise reduction is needed for the ultimate experience...

Cool video jmg8, that's a lot more instructive than a text post.
