Because there's a lot of instances of "I can't switch because all my projects that come in are omf/edl/aaf".

I know quite a few people that simply can not switch DAWs unless they can access assets from other DAWs, largely pro tools.

So it can be a good investment of time if your DAW has the functionality that that cross-section of users would use. It 'unlocks' people that are tied to another ecosystem because of interchange requirements.

For things like live/fl/bitwig though... not really necessary. They're all missing a huge host of features that would apply to this situation.
