Didn't I just buy the NI KU10 upgrade for about half of the current sale price? If memory serves, this really isn't much of a sale.

Yeah, I'm a bit annoyed that they had a 30% discount this time last year, but it is less of a deal this year-- later on in the product's lifespan. I don't want to pay more than 30% off the standard price for updating from 8 to 9. This is especially true given the likelihood that 10 will be announced in November.

Am I correct that the 20% discount isn't for Nexus or sample libraries? They have a different shopping cart than the plugins and I'm not finding a place to put the coupon code.

i don't know if you can use the coupon for the sample lib / nexus , i just know it work on the plugins.
