Wanted: Sampler

You know what I would buy in a split second? A sampler that was given the Tracktion treatment. Easy to use for someone who's never used a sampler. Based on JUCE, not following a hardware paradigm, and elegantly simple, this sampler would also be inexpensive and would import soundfonts and other samples.
I hope the T2 has a sampler that fits this bill...
If not, who wants to write one for me?

Errm, could you expand on the phrase "tracktion treatment". You mean color schemes? Drag n drop? What exactly?
"Spec it and they will come", sorta like Field of Dreams.

By Tracktion treatment, I mean:
1) Its easy to learn to use and does not mimic hardware.
2) No multiple windows.
3) All the features you need, none of the ones that you don't. (Of course this is subjective, but this is the target).
4) Drag-and-drop, easy to do common tasks
5) Uses open standards (sf, sfz, etc)
6) Elegant interface... I like tracktion's use of tranlucency.
7) Inexpensive
Quick and stable
9) Responsive developer
10) ...

Yeah, I've started reading that forum just because of the talk of the sampler. That just might be the ticket. btw, slightly off topic, what is the license protection method? I try to avoid C/R (but I made an exception for Tracktion).AD80 wrote:Maybe you should pick up Energy XT. Jorgen is cookin up something that sounds exactly like that and probably even more insane. Plus you'll get one of the most versatile and stable pieces of software available.

Energy XT does look good but Mac users haven't been invited to the party.
It's a shame.
I'm hoping for an improved sampler in T2.
Jules seems to care about mac users.
We notice these things.

yeah sort circuit is cool
and dont diss jorgen for not supporting mac
the money you save buying a bloated silly ass sampler from steinberk or nancy instruments will get you a pc to sit next to your mac and run EXT and shortcircuit an probably still have change

oh and an improved sampler for T2
sorry but Jules would literally have to spend all his development time making a new sampler that could even come close to a free one (short circuit) so its just not gonna happen
whats the point hed be better spendin his time actually making T work properly
oh just to get the record lined up
i really would pay a shitload on the T update if it had a new radical sampler but i doubt i'll be buying the upgrade if its biased heavily towards multitrackin
actually im a bit worried because i dont really want to keep my T license if the T2 update is going to be shite
but were not gonna find out shit till after its out
by then i wont be able to ssell my license cuase the updatre will have killed the market
obviously this is a pessimistic view but hey
we cant all be optomists and my BUMCHUM bungle (rack bitz )tells me T2 is gonna kick ass but hes only guessin
well see
