If you're actually looking for unison, you can always stack a few instances of the synth with different fine tuning settings between them. Leave the tuned one panned center, spread the detuned ones to the left & right. This is pretty much what unison settings are doing, anyway.Dragonsongz wrote:Oh well, I'll make due without [detune]. I'm having issues with this synth in Reaper. If I have automation enabled, it causes the whole program to freeze up until I close the FX containing window. I have to tab out of Reaper first in order to get any response though. It's really odd. Not experienced a bug like this in Reaper.

My entry for June.. It uses 8 instances of Tal, one instance of fruity limiter.. One effector for reverb..
Nice synth!

Actually the cymbal type sounds I made on Podolski were probably the only sounds I was happy with.jasinski wrote:That was definitely a challenge.

Old drum machines like the 808 used a stack of square waves detuned then high passed to produce hats and cymbals and I feel it produces nicer results than just filtering noise IMO.
The chorus in Podolski helped as well because it was possible to use it like and allpass\comb type filter by turning the depth down and the feedback up.

Totally right! I always feel that the FM synths end up with the best sounding cymbals, similarly - at least the ones with square waves and feedback.Laxplanet wrote:Old drum machines like the 808 used a stack of square waves detuned then high passed to produce hats and cymbals and I feel it produces nicer results than just filtering noise IMO.

Yeah I mostly use fm8 for cymbals or Image line Ogun. If I'm using fm8 I will often run it through PrismFx and send Prism the same MIDI data so it key tracks.z.prime wrote:Totally right! You know, I was thinking about doing something like that. Maybe I'll splurge a little on the cpu side and stack like I've never stacked before!z.prime wrote:If you're actually looking for unison, you can always stack a few instances of the synth with different fine tuning settings between them. Side note: This is the only plugin/OSC where I've been undeniably happy with my drums. It's...weird. (Having okish drums, that is)

You can always participate, you don't need 40 posts. If you *did not* participate, you need 40 posts before the start of the month to vote.VilianTroy wrote:can i post 40 times this month and to participate
