Sounds really good! I've not come to making a snare yet.. ugh.. good drums with synths are like some kind of dark art.Hard3eat wrote:CoolNow I got something to watch later ^^
Btw here are the drums I made:

I was aiming for DnB type of drums and I think they are pretty dope already (;
Still a lot of work tho...maybe a little too much saturation..

Thanx (;
Well..It's not that bad after you spend like couple years making them
For me it's mixdown what's keeps me down.. \;
Btw is there anyone that could give me some tips on how to make a tom sound? It's funny but I've never tried making one and I'm kinda lost now.
I was trying to make some tom-ish drum earlier inside noisemaker with triangle wave FM-d by another oscilator with -24 semi down and some noise layer but...it doesn't sound like a tom to me..

(I hope that zippyshare is okay)
Sounds more like some weird hybrid drum ;__;

Oh man, I just registered for this forum to get some presets and you're telling me you're doing a competition with one of my favourite synths?! This is going to be fun. If you haven't tried it already, Noisemaker has a really nice and rich sound, I'm looking forward to some of the results

Suggestion: try tuning down a snare sound, reduce the noise. Often this ends up with good results. One other thing: toms usually don't have a very large pitch drop like some other things do.Hard3eat wrote:... is there anyone that could give me some tips on how to make a tom sound?

Hey BJ and OSC gang --
Great choice for this month! I've had to take a few months off, but I'm planning to be back in on this one. Participating in the OSC is always a blast!

why u don't make the competition just pure synth with no external fx at all - it will be a lot more creative and challenging

Nah, just remove the synth too! We'd just use bodily noises. Claps, mouth, etc.VilianTroy wrote:why u don't make the competition just pure synth with no external fx at all - it will be a lot more creative and challenging

Or tune up a kick drum. Decrease pitch depth. Copy that one, shorten envelope and add some noise. Pitch up 6 semitones. Layer these 2 sounds.z.prime wrote:Suggestion: try tuning down a snare sound, reduce the noise. Often this ends up with good results. Edit: that's how I did it with Podolski which has only 1 oscillator. Maybe the method mentioned above can be done in a single patch with Noisemaker. Haven't spent that much time with it yet.
