What do you think of this idea? I think this would be cool to have for multi-patches.
I know you can do that with Minihost modular or patcher inside fl studio for example, but sometimes there are problems like stuck notes ect due to improper compatibility.

I think they have given that stuff thought in the past with the Uhbiks and then later with the idea of the Berlin Modular. Who knows, they may come back to it at some point. The only thing that seems to be evident is that they probably won't do anything like that unless they can take it to another level. My2c

We have started developing a small host / stand alone with focus on sound design. It's currently maybe suitable for debugging, but we want to see where we go once we have used it for a while...

I asked the same thing about two years ago and didn't get an answer. Glad it's coming. Sure it's easy to layer patches in a DAW but it's DAW-dependent. I would really like to hear some HS multi-layered/multi-synths patches!

Hmmm, how are HS multi-layered/multi-synths patches related to a stand alone? I'd think that the stand alone would make it more difficult to layer sounds...?xx JPRacer xx wrote:I asked the same thing about two years ago and didn't get an answer. Glad it's coming. ^ Maybe I didn't understand correctly. I thought you were developing a VST/standalone that can host your other vsts inside it for layering patches, kind of like Rob Papen Prisma and some other similar.

I thought he meant just a simple host so that one can use a single synth in 'standalone'xx JPRacer xx wrote:^ Maybe I didn't understand correctly. Like Hermann Seib's vsthost? http://www.hermannseib.com/english/vsthost.htmpdxindy wrote:I thought he meant just a simple host so that one can use a single synth in 'standalone'xx JPRacer xx wrote:^ Maybe I didn't understand correctly. But what's the point of a simple standalone host? There's already a couple of choices available that are working perfectly for the intended use.

Nice to see Urs you already thought of this idea! But i do share same thoughts, there is no need for standalone imo. Or maybe to make this optional but the main focus still would be host working as vst for U-he synths. Kind of like discontinued DCam's Fusor for it's synth squad synthesizers.xx JPRacer xx wrote:But what's the point of a simple standalone host? I do that sort of layering in my host... which is the best place for it (IMO). There are plenty of other things I'd rather see development time go to than replicating functionality I already have.Elektronisch wrote:Nice to see Urs you already thought of this idea! We currently have a freelancer who can do all sorts of bits and bops and who's very quick at things like hosts, plug-in formats, command line apps etc. So we're using the opportunity and have him do a few things for as long as we have him available, which are all things that don't require to be too involved with our own codebase (to save the learning curve).pdxindy wrote:There are plenty of other things I'd rather see development time go to than replicating functionality I already have.
