Short of buying Bazille (which I may do), is there any way to get close to the factory patch 'ST Frozen In Time' using ACE or Zebra 2/HZ?

It's perfect for a project I'm working on, but I only have the demo of Bazille at the moment. I can hear the 5th in there, and can't see an osc producing it so presume it's some sort of harmonic distortion. The pulsing, reverb & osc sounds just work perfectly for the sort of big/powerful retro scifi pad I need.

I'll see how well I can aquaint myself with Bazille's interface and see what's going on with the patch, but if anyone better versed in synthesis could give me some pointers for getting close with ACE or zebra, that would be great. Ace, even!

That patch uses mapping generators as oscillators, going through lag processor to smooth the waveforms out, and then into filter. ACE is out of question since it only has one mapping generator and no lag processor per se, so I guess you could do it with Zebra, but you'd need to approximate the waveforms somehow. Then there's Bazille's filter which is quite unique to Bazille...

You're probably better off just purchasing it

Couldn't the lag processor be approximated by a lowpass filter in Ace?

Why restrict yourself to u-he synths?

Mainly because it's the u-he forum!

Thanks for the replies chaps. I do have massive, logic Synths, reaktor etc but presumed u-he stuff may be better suited, being from the same family.

I'll fiddle around some more with zebra and Ace. It's not necessarily getting that exact pulsing pattern, more a matter of matching the timbre, weight, envelope and reverb if I can.

I tried the Bazille patch for fun, and I made it sound roughly similar by using just one tapmap, and using an inverter to create the second one. If you look at the tapmaps, you'll see that they're the same, but one is backwards.
