Upgrade from T3 to what T6 or T7?

Well HURRAH!! I have obviously been doing the wrong searches on t'interweb or had just given up searching. I had been happy with the ease of Tracktion3 and been using that for a long time, but Mackie gave up on upgrades, then the MAC I was using died and I gave up looking for an upgrade path...then tonight I just happened to be looking at interfaces on Studiospares & noticed that the Behringer one said it came bundled with Tracktion so I finally got around to another search and found my way to the new site

I have ended up with a Win7 64bit laptop running Reaper, but have been struggling to get it to do what I want hence the chance to get back to an upgraded version of a system I got along with would be great.

My old account login all seems to work so I should have an upgrade option - it certainly looks like it as I can put the upgrade to the cart for T6, but would it be better to got straight to T7?

Also, when the MAC died I was part way through some remixes in T3. Is there any chance that if I could get to the T3 mix details from the old HDD I might be able to import those into T6 or T7 (but on the Windows laptop)with any chance of success.

I just wish I had done a better search before going with Reaper on the laptop, but like I say it had been so long I had given up the search

Why T6 ? T7 = T6 + some new great and cool features and ehanced look.

Some don't like T7's look (and inability to change it) but for me it's the most enjoyable version of Tracktion. If I'm not mistaken, you can download and test both versions. You might want to do that to make sure that it works well on your computer and with your plugins. You never can know until you try.

Right then. A Dell 2.4 i7 laptop with 8gb ram seems to handle T7 OK so the demo is downloaded.

Doesn't seem to recognise some plugins, particularly Drumcore, but I have a sneaking suspicion I saw something somewhere that suggested that might be something to do with running 64bit.

Onwards & upwards. Just need to see if I can rescue any clips and mix details from the old Mac G5 and whether the laptop can understand those now

If it helps, you can install both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions on a 64-bit PC.
