Is there a way to manually slice a sample thats been dragged and dropped from my daw into geist 2?

Post

Drop it on a pad. Go to layer and send to slicer.
Not intuitive at all

I agree and I don't feel the workflow is any better, same as Geist 1 which isn't bad...

Not really a manual slice but you use the start and end points of the sample then just copy pad to next pad and repeat process until and have all your chops/slices...

When you assign a controller to, say, the Attack slider, it appears to only control this pad.

Can Geist 2 be set to change focus to the next pad I select? Reuse the same knob for all pads/attack?

Yup. Make sure to have a blank pattern. Load a sample on pad 1 - click on mapping - click on midi learn to turn it on - click on attack and move whatever slider or knob you want to control it - click on the focus checkbox - click on midi learn again to turn it off - click on pattern - go to pad 1 and right click and clear pad - click on tools and save as default

Thank you! I had just seen a video on Geist 1 and saw the focus checkbox.

its funny how i complained about the small screen size of G1 but now when I lay it all out the way I want it takes the whole screen and I cant see the project window nor the mixer.

I need a huge screen or a trillion pixels more and a pair of binoculars :)

...the latest update seems to've made the gui/graphics snappier too. Beginning to like this...

So does anyone really like it? Everyone seems to be more or less "meh" on it. I'm using Geist 1 mainly for slicing and playing samples on it. I have Maul / Bloom as VSTs (which I use heavily). There doesn't seem to be anything relevant for me (besides screen resize). Plus the demo was unstable for me & it felt really sluggish (snappiness and ease of use is one of the main factors for me, that's why im also eyeing Vice as a replacement tool).
