Sorry this is a bit late in the thread....
I am relatively new to the Arturia world having recently acquired a Keylab 88 and the Analog Lab (now updated to V2)
I was wondering as the new V collection is so expensive, if it would be worthwhile to get the v4 colelction first (at 99) and then perhaps upgrade to v5 at a later time?
Or are they different sets? Are there any instruments in v4 that are also in v5 for example?
Thanks

I would advise patience. If you can wait a while prices will drop.miden wrote:Sorry this is a bit late in the thread....

Another way to go about it is to pick up a few individual plugins in the marketplace. Being patient again will let you pick them up at $25-35. Arturia will start hitting you with upgrade deals that get better as time goes on between major releases. I believe 4 is the magic number for the biggest discount.

I don't know if i understand you right but VC4 for $99 is just the update for former VC4 collection owners. The new instruments are all in V5.

No the email link I got from Arturia took me to my Arturia account page and this showed I could buy the full V-Collection 4 for $99 it did not say anywhere this was an upgrade package only...
Maybe it's because it says Updated (NOT upgraded) is where the confusion is? I red this to mean it is the full version, just updated.
Question is still there though as to the differences between the two - for EG what instruments in v4 are in v5 too....and are the other similar inclusions?

Technically the new v4 is the same like v5 (refreshed some of its established classics with bigger GUI, new preset browsers, new sounds and new features) only that v5 hold five new instruments: Synclavier V, Farfisa V, B-3 V, Stage-73 V, and Piano V, a collection of classic pianos.

I bought Arturia V Collect 4 update - but now I cannot use the older plugins - meaning the previous GUI plugs, I've got all my work in the past done in those plugins. Is there any reason why these now show up as demo plugins? thnx

If you're talking about "V Collection 4 Update" for $99 in the email from a few days ago - that is the newest version of all the synths, but you don't get the ones that murnau listed.Maybe it's because it says Updated (NOT upgraded) is where the confusion is? I red this to mean it is the full version, just updated.
I was very confused about this too - but it just made sense. What they really mean is the Ver 5 versions of the synths that are in the Ver 4 collection - which is still confusing
Look back a few pages in this thread - there is a link which will show you the difference between Ver 4 and ver 5.
Also, read through the email, and it does sort of explain everything.

They should still work fine alongside them, mine did till I deleted them.trusampler wrote:I bought Arturia V Collect 4 update - but now I cannot use the older plugins - meaning the previous GUI plugs, I've got all my work in the past done in those plugins. The new presets are in a different format, and not compatible. Supposedly there will be a converter available "in the next few months".trusampler wrote:I bought Arturia V Collect 4 update - but now I cannot use the older plugins - meaning the previous GUI plugs, I've got all my work in the past done in those plugins. (Another not too clever decision)
It's mentioned somewhere in this thread - also look in the forums on the Arturia site...
EDIT - as aMUSEd says, you can still use the old plugins, to access your old presets.

Don't irritate the people here. I already explained in the easiest way what is in new v4 and that the 5 new synths are only in v5.jbraner wrote:If you're talking about "V Collection 4 Update" for $99 in the email from a few days ago - that is the newest version of all the synths, but you don't get the ones that murnau listed.Maybe it's because it says Updated (NOT upgraded) is where the confusion is? Yeah but what I also meant was they shouldn't be showing as demos so if they are there's a problem somewhere but I'm sure it's fixablejbraner wrote:The new presets are in a different format, and not compatible.
