Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

At first, Arturia offered me $249 for V5 Collection, as I am an owner of Vox Continental V (got it for $50 on sale).
Then I got an offer for the updated V4 for $99. That's the one for me. I've already got Ivory II Grands and Uprights, and a real Hammond B3, Leslie 122, Farfisa Compact, and Rhodes Stage 88. The only thing I'll miss is Synclavier V, and I'll get to play some of those presets in Analog Lab 2. Plus, V4 update still includes Spark 2.
All that for a total investment of $150. That's a freaking bargain!

It is a great collection, but I'm still with v4 (with only two updated, SEM V2 and ARP2600 V3). But, Spark 2 is the most used plugin from Arturia here! And it is the most important in the 4th collection IMO. I wish that Arturia invest more in developing it like better sound designing, better workflow, better mapping (C1 is the kick not C3!!!) and for god sake mapping for BeatStep!!
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Cool thanks for that - yeah I'll scan back a few thread pages and check itjbraner wrote:If you're talking about "V Collection 4 Update" for $99 in the email from a few days ago - that is the newest version of all the synths, but you don't get the ones that murnau listed.Maybe it's because it says Updated (NOT upgraded) is where the confusion is? I red this to mean it is the full version, just updated.
I was very confused about this too - but it just made sense. What they really mean is the Ver 5 versions of the synths that are in the Ver 4 collection - which is still confusing![]()
Look back a few pages in this thread - there is a link which will show you the difference between Ver 4 and ver 5.
Also, read through the email, and it does sort of explain everything.

I finally broke down and bought the "V Collection 4 Update". I do like the new UI, and especially loike the new preset management and the integration between Analog Lab presets and the individual instruments presets (basically they're all looking at the same list of presets...)
Does anyone know how to make "fine" adjustments to the Mini's (and hopefully to all synths) knobs in Windows? On the old version - if you moved your mouse away from the "center", and moved it "outsside" the knob a bit - you could make fine adjustments. That doesn't seem to work anymore, and I'm not seeing it in the manual (although that doesn't mean it's not there - I'll look some more).
I tried the usual "ctrl", and "alt" while adjusting, but they don't seem to make a difference.

FWIW as i upgraded to V5 from V4 i still got the V4 license and could still use Spark 2 with that here.tonewheeltom wrote: Plus, V4 update still includes Spark 2.
When upgrading from V4 the old license is not replaced by the new one but you could use both (while you could not sell the v4 license if you used it for the upgrade).
The new plugin updates in V-Collection 5 also work independent from the older plugin versions (e.g. Mini V3.x vs Mini V2.x) so if you need it you could use both versions at once.

Actually on the old version you would use the left mousebutton to control Fine and the right mousebutton to control Coarse. (At least thats how it works here.)jbraner wrote:Does anyone know how to make "fine" adjustments to the Mini's (and hopefully to all synths) knobs in Windows? On the new version, if i remember correctly, thats been reversed, i.e. LMB controls Coarse and RMB controls Fine. (Cant check right now, would have to reinstall demo first.)
But its either one or the other.
EDIT: When i said LMB Fine / RMB Coarse (old version) i meant the Osc Tune knobs. The others are LMB Coarse / RMB Fine. Also what you describe sounds like you were using rotary/circular control, in which case the above would not apply. You would have to switch the knob behavior in your host to 'Linear' in order to use LMB/RMB for Coarse/Fine.

Hi ENV1,
Yeah - I'm not talking about the coarse/fine settings on the oscillators, but rather on any other knob - when you're getting close, and it goes from, say, 1.97 to 2.03 - but you want 2.00 (I'm just making up numbers here.)
In the old version, when you're getting "close" - you can move the mouse away from the "center" of the knob (so you're say, 6 inches away from the knob now) and it will adjust in finer increments. That doesn't seem to work now.
Most other plugins usually let you hold down, say, ctrl while adjusting - to get finer adjustments...

Yeah, it works like that in Circular knobmode, but it wont in Linear mode. I therefore suspect that the plugin is now being controlled in Linear mode, which means you could use the LMB/RMB method.jbraner wrote:Hi ENV1,

You could try holding SHIFT. On the old version this is what makes the LMB function like the RMB, i.e. Coarse for the Oscs and Fine for the rest. (CTRL is MIDI Assign, ALT is Temporary Circular Mode.)jbraner wrote:Most other plugins usually let you hold down, say, ctrl while adjusting - to get finer adjustments...
