Wow some great patches, don't know who said they are bad but I'm just a few into the atmos and loving Extrasolar Orbit.

Not keen on the fact that I can't see all 3 oscs side by side (like in Serum) - and why is the filter cutoff/res back to front compared to every synth in existence - I started tweaking it and thought that sounds strange then realised I had the res knob not the cutoff?

I do love all the morph modes but it really does remind me too much of Serum there - it's like they decided to just copy Serum but add a dozen more modes to out compete it.

Like Nemesis it's dumped crap all over my plugins folder - they need to learn how to make use of the Mac file system properly.

But given how it sounds I still might end up buying it, even though I know they never ever take on board feedback like the above so I probably will never see 3 oscs side by side etc.

Oh crap I hit the size button thinking I might get a bigger size and now all I have is a big white rectangle - reloading the plugin doesn't fix it - help.

Haven't spend much time with it yet, but browsing the patches I'm really liking the atmos and pads a lot.

Great the bug persists even between hosts - so now I'm screwed, can't do anything to fix it.

In FL Studio the size button resizes to a small player screen, like below.

But then when I reload the plugin and I want to switch back to large, I get this.

Reloading the plugin again it's back to normal.

Definitely needs some work...

Works in Bitwig in mac...size button switches to tiny box with minimal controls. Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling?"

Post

Yes for me the interface went tiny first of all, then when I tried to close and reopen it (I thought the tiny size was a bug not a feature - I can't believe they actually think adding a tiny size makes more sense than adding a proper large size showing all oscs) I got this:
Icarus.jpg
and it stays like that no matter what hosts I try and load it in whether au in Logic or VST in Bitwig.

There is no uninstaller on Mac (I wouldn't risk it anyway knowing how they installed everything into my plugins folder). Tried reinstalling but the problem won't go away. I'm guessing there is some config file somewhere that has this setting stored - I could try deleting that if I can find it.

Post

Found it - if anyone else has this problem you need to delete the file 'IcarusHideEditor.cfg' which (of course) is in the root dir of the Mac plugins folder.

Actually, yeah, i dismissed the factory preset as average too quickly too, but then i went on listening to the "atmos" ones, and that convinced me pretty much too. :) The first couple of trancey presets when you open it up are really not representative, there are really some good ones in there.

Plus one on the res/cutoff knobs....weird to have those in another order...very weird... :ud:

Now it's crackling like crazy - is that the demo sound? Tried reloading, didn't fix it.

Same here...those trancy blah patches weren't able to convince me. The drum patches, atmo and fx did.....awesome tool, at a second and more in depth look.

How frustrating that Tone2 still does this. Given the wealth of fine synths out there (and I'm sure Icarus is a fine synth in performance), I'm always looking for any excuse not to even consider something. I realize not everyone is bothered by this, but an untidy file structure does perturb me, so I'm pleased to be able to continue to skip Tone2's products. :P
