I know MDrummer is a monster, with lots of components and options, but does anybody have opinion/argument about how its AI for rythm generation stands up against, say Jamstix?
I am just wanting to compare the AI part of each program. Thanks.

Just try the trial and see 
. They are very different... In Jamstix it all seems like some kind of blackbox. As a professional courtesy I cannot give you any statements about it. Anyways in MDrummer you have access to everything. And for the record there is no other software out there I'm aware of that would actually Rhythm generator (which your title implies).
