ok so i went to the gym today with personal trainer Icarus... this was the result....

i'm really happy with this synth but needs some fixes. One of the arps doesn't stop making some clicks until i turn arp off.... i have no clue what's going on, tried raising the attack, turn of dellays... seems to come from the arp it self somehow.. only stops when i turn off the arp even if no midi is being sent!??!

anyone gets that too? you can hear the clicks from 1:41 to 1:44

anyhow it's not officially released yet so, let's pray for some fixes and MSEG's! ..

its not a finished track, just playing around with it... but realllly like how deep it can sound and starting to know its quirks to pull off things, like a nice bass, the bass doesn't even have an eq on it no eq's, no nothing.... straight sound from icarus to master output!

also someone was comparing it to serum... i'm problably going to start a WHOLE NEW TOPIC but don't you guys feel Icarus ressembles more to ( i problably... shouldn't... do ....this...)... [Icarus the sylenth killer??] jk... i ment to ask if someone feels Icarus ressembles more to Walforf blofeld then anything else? i never played with one but it's the feeling i get from what i've heard from blofeld....

Hell ya! Icarus is a really nice beast so far. Loving how it compliments Serum and Massive.

i have a midi track in cubase. It only starts the clicks after a bunch of bars...

if i play with the keyboard it never happens, even with arp on.

yes, i have live and reaper, i'll do trouble shooting and try a new project in cubase with a new midi track too to see if it still happens

Ooop, never mind, just answered my own question. Switch off the "Env" button within the LFO.

Detailed info from Markus on LFOs...

Icarus can run the lfos in polyphonic (per voice) and monophonic (global for all voices) modes. The mono button defines this. Per default the lfos and the arp run in softsync mode. If you activate mono the lfo will only retrigger when no voices have been playing before. Otherwise it works like a freerunning lfo.

When i did sounddesign i usually used 'softsync with mono' for filtersweeps. It is a hybrid mode which combines the advantages of a retriggered lfo and a freerunning lfo. Here you achive similar results like with a free running lfo, however with the advantage, that you can define with phase where the lfo starts playing when you press the first key on the keyboard.
This way you can also make a voices sync with the wavetable position. I used this kind of setup in many vocoder patches.

Setting an Lfo for free running:
1) Setup ->Arp/Lfo Free
2) In the Lfo: Mono, no Env, key to 0, fadein to 0

For this purpose there are also 16 additional Lfos in the matrix. They are always free running, no matter what settings you do in setup. Select 'Sine X Hz' as matrix source.

Just got an update from serum: 8 LFO's. All containing all the options one could need. No need for "hybrid" modes imho. Icarus is great, but for some heavy duty stuff, i use external lfo's a.t.m. from xfer btw...

In the hardware domain virus is the most obvious comparison. It does capture the virus character for some sounds, for some others it is not there. No stereo spread control for unison is the real bummer. Also the filter saturation mostly sounds bad. In the other hand, the resynthesis mostly gives useable results (virus can't do this and this is the whole new world of possibilities) and the oscillators morph feature is a goldmine.
