Has anyone had issues in Ableton using NoiseMaker in device racks with lots of automation? After quitting and relaunching Ableton nothing has been quite the same with my gratuitously-automated NoiseMaker instances. I see all the knobs in the plugin dancing around like crazy still, but it sounds almost like the filter cutoff / resonance automation is being completely ignored.

I've been having a tough time isolating what's going on, and it probably doesn't help that I've got my own home-cooked max for live things driving the automation, but it definitely looks like all the automation data gets into NoiseMaker.

Short format of this story::

I had dynamic sounds that sounded one way and I was like "yeah!"
I quit and relaunched Ableton (or did it do that all by itself…)
Some instruments sounded really flat and I was like "aww…"

Nice! Thanks! It's easy to get sucked into the filter vortex, though, gradually leaving more and more of your sound to your imagination, while you're editing it, hehe. That's dangerous!
It's pretty tricky to control the character of the sound in TAL, when you aim for more natural sounds. I've tried to nudge the pulse width into position to get a kind of choir like sound out of it that's still not filtered to death. It works really nicely in chords in the upper ranges octave 6+, maybe adding a low one in support at 4 or 5, but 5 is really the most revealing for the pulse wave. ALSO it's best to actually rather use a nice reverb such as Sanford's fantastic reverb (free) and dip the sound really into it, hehehe. Just try to feel out at one point it drowns and instead try to preserve some sense of clarity.

Anyway...Noizemaker is might fine fun and there's much left to explore right now!

I'm having a minor other issue, where too many instances somehow can begin to sort of accumulate processing needs over time, eventually forcing me to restart MuLab (DAW). It also makes me "toggle processing on/off" when ever I leave my machine for a moment, hehe... strange kind of hunger TAL's baby has.

Anyway, here's another flute preset with a little shakuhashi (spelling?) type version as well. Plays nicely with some careful pitch bending!

It's just a quick test with choir and shaku. I'm kind of surprised how well the Shakuhachi (correct spelling) works!?!

This is pure TAL-Noizemaker, by the way. I did use a limiter a little, tiny compression, but no effects otherwise. Not like it's a big deal, but it kinda is, too. Doesn't sound half bad to me!

I won't be so bold to claim the attached as a "proper" clap, but for now at least, I'm layering the two attached patches to serve the role of a clap. One's a noise hit, the other uses the graphic envelope. The noise hit plus a tom base (which i haven't done yet) could serve as the starting point for a snare. I hate snares, though, so I'm sticking with the clap (even though a perfect snare is almost a requirement for winning OSC)

I have been out of action the last month, so I am coming into this uncharacteristically late. Just started my entry today and forgotten how incredible this synth is. Definitely on par with many paid synths.

Noisemaker was probably the first synth I tried out when I first started making electronic music, and while it has been many years, it is cool to come back and actually make a full track with it. Not that I tend to use a lot of modulation in my sounds, but damn you can do some crazy stuff with this guy!

I'm still kinda surprised...

...just the occasional 'clicks' are a bit concerning. I kinda wished TAL would come back to this one for a little check-up, giving his classic a tiny facelift, so to say!
