Today I found out MuLab and wanted to know what the difference is between the two products.

MuLab is fully featured digital audio workstation and MuX is modular environment that is also integrated into MuLab.

This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? :D ShawnG

MuLab is a DAW, comparable with Cubase, Sonar, Reaper, etc - you compose music in it.
MUX is a modular environment, comparable with EnergyXT and others - you create effects and synths in it.

MuLab integrates MUX already, you don't need to add it on. MuLab also hosts VST plugins.
MUX is a VST plugin you can host in a compatible DAW. MUX also hosts VST plugins.

MuLab is available on Windows (x32, x64) and MacOS (x32).
Mux is available on Windows (x32, x64).

You can download and trial both of them from their download pages:

(See the demo constraints in the "Read This" section.)

Thank you! So I only need to buy MUX If I want to have a modular synth in Live?
