Do we have to buy Metafilter directly from Waves to get Element 2 free?
Thanks.

Re: OTS group buy
OK, OK. You guys are confirming what I thought.
I went to the site and logged in and saw the $20 prices (I already own both) but I didn't see any upgrade note or anything else.
This morning I visited the OTS site from a remote PC and didn't log in and saw the same prices, so I figured something was up. Which is why I asked. Note the word "shocked" in my description.
I thought I was running the latest version of these, but I'll have to check on that.
Cheers

Indeed. I don't need or want either and yet I'm incredibly tempted.lnikj wrote:Just a shout out that this worked for me. Not ordered from them before. Is Element any good? Anything it adds to the billions of other synths at my disposal?

Just registered the serial, now waiting for Element v2 to get added to my Waves accountElement 2 will be added automatically in your account after registering this today.
Please allow up to 30 minutes for that.

Very simple bread and butter synth, but a good fat warm sound. Hard to make it sound bad. Nothing you don't have already but .. sigh .. couldn't resistMushy Mushy wrote:Indeed. It's a decent VA shipping with lots of patchesMushy Mushy wrote:Is Element any good? Anything it adds to the billions of other synths at my disposal?
I mean for this price, it's not more than buying a soundset for another synth.
Just getting Metafilter for $33 is a fantastic catch

I tried the Element 2 demo before I purchased this bundle. I liked the sound and ease of use. The parameters are laid out very simply, and tweaking always seemed to produce good results. I thought it sounded pretty damn good. Lots of patches. Although a pretty hefty CPU hog...

I'm ready to forget about Element v2
Metafilter is worth $33 by itself, a great bargain

haha, cool. I watched a review on Metafilter, but not sure how much use it would get compared to my filterfreak. The spread and delay options sounded pretty cool. Either way, I can't wait to try. I have been looking for a simple filter, but I'd hate to use such a cool looking filter just for a simple lowpass filter.Numanoid wrote:I'm ready to forget about Element v2

Yeah! I am able to resist the GAS on this Waves deal!!! In terms of filters, I already have The Drop (which is superior sounding), as well as Etch and Volcano 2, which seem comparable to this Waves one. This Waves filter has a really nice looking GUI but I think I already have my needs covered. It doesn't seem to do anything those other ones can't do. If I didn't own so many high quality filters I would definitely be interested in at least trying out the demo. It's all about "The Drop" for me these days anyway....
As far as Element 2, Numanoid just made my day by indicating that it's a CPU hog. I was at first tempted by it just for the presets. Not anymore
I overcame the gassiness. Proud of myself (for once).

Same here
I'll save the cash for the next PA summer sale on weekend (which hopefully isn't as disappointing as the previous ones) and for the "huge" Waves sale next Monday.
