i think theyre hinting f**k all
i dont think theyll ever allow other developers to save as rex2 which means them saying its an open format is total bullshit
and what about all this nonce that you have to be a registered company
companies have the choice to register in the UK so whats there point exactly
i dunno about propheads maybe fuckheads would be a better name
Oh i love recycle by the way its my most used soft but they do talk shit

yeah theres an absolute shitload you can find em here at KVR
Im not sure about kontact though youd have to check
But it seems that rex2 is about to become the next way that sample cd companies get rid of there old sample libraries
the power of rex2 really lies in its abilty to allow you to create and store your own chops
it totally humours my sick sense of humour when something like stylus is hailed as this all conquering beat creator that has a 9 gig library of samples
what they dont tell you is that all variations of a beat are created in sample form,
which misses the point of beat chopping
Were just about to put out the next TF plug Retractor and this isnt an advert but it really shows how one of these vsti's should be built
rather than supplying variations in sample (takin up shit loads of space)
they should rather supply variation in midi file (takin up no space)
This way you not only get variation but anyone who isnt used to workin with choppin using this style is shown how by the midi variations
the main problem i see with getting Rex2 support in T is it isnt actually that useful
You need a £100 GBP product to create the files in the first place or you got to buy some
secondly you can create the chop in recycle and save as wav and then put it in the T sampler anyhow
I do this all the time and believe me its the only thing the sampler as is does really really really well
When Retractor comes out you will be able to download the default bank in T archive format and check it for yourself
this is why i would say Rex2 T pointless(but a nice luxury)

Speaking for myself, I don't own Recycle & don't use other people's loops, so REX2 support is of little relevence to me..
I would however really like to see some Recycle style transient detection / slicing in T2.
As I understand it (from my few sessions using Recycle) all Tracktion would need is a sensitivity slider: It is already aware of the tempo, and the audio editing is IMO well up to the job of adjusting "slice" points manually..
An extra bonus might be a "Send to Sampler" feature which would load the slices into a Tracktion sampler & turn the audio clips into MIDI.. sort of like render in reverse!

I think it's sad that the propriety format REX has become the defacto standard for chopped loops as the WAV file format actually include cue markers which as far as I understand can be used just for this purpose. Not sure which sample editor or sequencers programs that supports it though.
