Getting plugins to register in T7

I presently have the trial version of T7 loaded.

I have a, i7 laptop with 8 gb ram and Win7 Pro 64 bit, so originally I installed the 64 bit version but had problems getting some plugins to be recognised - specifically DrumCore 3 & Sampletank 3, but there were a number of other IK plugins from the T-Racks family that also failed.

Both DrumCore & Sampletank are installed, registered and run fine as standalones as well as in Reaper, but in T7 on the plugin scan they are on a long list of VST's that fail with the message "...appears to be a plugin but failed to load" or similar.

After a bit of research on here I downloaded T7 32 bit and re ran the plugin scan having fired up that version as Administrator.

That found Drumcore, though all the sound loops show as empty and only the MIDI clips work, but Sampletank still fails :(

Any other helpful hints as to how to get these to load properly? I would really like to get back to using Tracktion again but missing those two, for which I have a huge library of clips and samples, would be a very major negative.

a thought, might it be worth unloading T7 and seeing if T6 will load them all and then work forwards? Clutching at straws

i have experienced that if you only have the 64bit version of tracktion installed it will tell you that all your installed 32bit versions of your plugins is failed.

Perhaps I need to uninstall the 64bit version completely

If you keep both, you can swap between them to use plug-ins with the first bittery, freeze tracks as necessary, then reopen in the other, and carry on using the second bittery.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

I have unloaded everything and gone back to just the 32 Bit version of T6, downloaded the latest version of Sampletank3 but to no avail, it still fails whether I drag & drop the dll or run the scan :(

Any other good ideas how to get it to register?

Sampletank 3 is 64 bit only, isn't it? They don't have a 32 bit VST version, if I remember right.

Do a scan in T7 64 bit version, should pick it up fine. I use it.

Specs for Sampletank3 confirm it's only available as a 64 bit version.

You can't get Sampletank3 to work in the 32 bit version of T7, without some kind of VST wrapper (like J-Bridge), it's not possible. You can get it working in the 64 bit version of T7, both the host and VST are 64 bit versions.

If you've got other IK multimedia plugs that don't work in the 64 bit version of T7, make sure you're scanning the 64 bit version of the VST. Some of their plugs install both the 32 bit VST and 64 bit VST, in different folders. Scan the right one, running T7 as administrator, and it will work. Scan the wrong one (the 32 bit VST, in T7 64 bit) and it won't work.

I'll have another go. It seemed that all the answers to similar problems suggested I needed to run Tracktion as 32 bit not 64

I think I might need to uninstall everything and start again making sure to run everything, installs & the program once installed, as Admin.

I started with T7 64bit and it skips Sampletank and a number of other IKM plugins. So back to the drawing board & reinstalls

T7 Has a single process plugin scanning option, try messing with that. I had to
disable it to scan in several plugins for instance.

Sorry, but those answers are wrong.

Sampletank 3 only exists as a 64 bit plugin. It will only work natively in a 64 bit host. You will not be able to get 32 bit Tracktion (any version) to scan and run Sampletank 3 without loading Sampletank into some kind of wrapper VST.

The most popular wrapper on windows is J-Bridge, which lets you run 32 bit plugins in 64 bit hosts, and 64 bit plugins in 32 bit hosts. I've not tried Sampletank 3 in J-Bridge, so I don't know if it works.

Link for J-Bridge, if you want to try it - https://jstuff.wordpress.com/jbridge/

I know for a fact Sampletank 3 works in 64 bit T6 and 64 bit T7, because I've used it in both.

Wiped everything and started installs again but using Run as Admin, and now Sampletank 3 has been found by T7

Looks like whatever was causing the errors before was something to do with Windows User Control in Win7

The J-Bridge link will be useful to run Drumcore 3 unless/until I upgrade to DC 4 which is 64 bit.

I quit using 32-bit plugins because Tracktion wouldn't bridge. Yeah, I know, radical, but it helped me minimize my plugin usage and I got more productive.
