Tunefish 4

Yes it's easier to target old Windows with that,
than configuring a new compiler.

So...
We can use Tunefish 3 AND Tunefish 4?
We can use Tunefish 3 OR Tunefish 4?
Only Tunefish 4 is allowed?

Post

New to all of this. Tunefish is a pretty unique synth so I thought I'd add my playtime with it here :) not finished yet but I may add to it later on.

(I am using the version of Tunefish4 that was on the official site as of 3/7/2016... haven't tried the updates yet, but I'm using Renoise and there have been no crashes and cpu usage is minimal.)

I'm using Renoise. So far, though it's subject to change, I'm using 7 instances of Tunefish 4, EQ, Reverb x 2, Compressor x 4, Maximizer x 1.

Tunefish 3 is fine, but try 4 first, and if it doesn't work - see if you can help report some bugs.

Both works decently for me, But 3 seems to be more "stable" on percussive sounds (4 varies the attack, sometimes punchy, sometimes muffled).

Both have some kind of "stereo flutter", even with all FX turned off. Never got a centered panning output.

As promised two days ago I prepared a short (1,5min) video, trying to demonstrate the strange difference in sound that I noticed with recent Tunefish 4 (beta) builds.
(I'm using beta 4 in the video, but I also noticed it with beta 1... didn't try the other ones)

DAW is Cubase 8.5, Windows 8.1 64bit
Everything else should hopefully be pretty self-explanatory when watching the video.
I'm sorry I couldn't fit both instances / versions (i.e. the GUIs) fully on the screen at the same time - but it should be pretty obvious which one is playing at any one time, and that the patches are identical.
(BTW: I also noticed the effect with other presets, but the one I chose for the video shows it particularly well.)

I hope the the effect I tried to show is still audible after YouTube compression... (it's probably best if you watch it in Full HD, assuming this gives the best audio quality as well.)

Does anyone else experience this?
My Environment: Windows 64bit, Cubase 8.5

Hmm. That is odd. Not getting a 'flutter' with a single osc with everything at default, but the output isn't exactly stereo centered. Get a "0" shape using a phase meter.

My humble submission:

https://soundcloud.com/darksynth-fx/dar ... ittersweet

DAW: Ableton 9 Suite

9x Tunefish4
9x Ableton EQ8
2x Ableton compressor
1x Ableton limiter
1x Ableton reverb (send channel)
1x Ableton delay (send channel)

Hey, thanks for the video. Yes very audible, I must have broken something obviously. Also there's some clicking that should not be there. I will try and debug where this is coming from.

Bug Report :

In FLStudio(11) and Reaper after opening and closing , and then opening the vst again (32 bit version beta 4) all the textboxes are empty :(
And, only changes made to the Saaaaw preset are recalled correctly, If I change another preset it will not be recalled correctly.

Great Synth BTW 8)

I see the same as well ... also recalling a preset in Reaper doesn't recall the mod matrix and effect rack details.

Not really workable at the moment for me ... anyone else using Reaper having more luck?

Guys, please specify which version of the plug-in you're using when reporting bugs.

If anyone needs a Linux plugin I can provide one. I'm on Linux Mint 17.03 which should be compatible with Ubuntu 14.04.

Making the plug-in is very easy btw.

@admin (bjporter?) -

Since we're reporting bugs.. (obviously) not a big thing, but could you do my OCD a favor and add subheading #4 back into the list under the first heading on this page:

https://sites.google.com/site/kvrosc/osc-89-tunefish4

It skips from #3 to #5. I think it just needs a line break and 4. after "soundcloud group."

If only my ears were as particular as my proofreading eyes, my mixing would certainly improve! :)

Peace
