It the age old boring querstion. I'm using Cubase SX 2.0.1 and decided because of various problems to reinstall it. I also have M-Audio's Audiophile 2496. Before it was fine, Latency was about 10ms which I didn't mind at all. Now it's about 7 minutes which makes it more than difficult to stay in time with the click track.

My drivers have not changed and I have checked that I am using the correct ASIO drivers. What other varibles can be altered?

Thank you very much for any help. It is too annoying for words

did you do the maudio uninstall, before re-installing it?
do that and install again is all I can think of...

It's not that much longer than the latency, and I managed to consume half a packed of hit biscuits and clean my belly button out in my period of anticipating a reply. It would be nice if someone could point me in the right direction tho... :help:

there is a special app that comes with the driver download to unistall the driver. they don't recommend install drivers over a previous one.

I had cubase projects which, for some reason, still had links to old midi controllers and even audio channels that weren't installed anymore. Cubase for some reason didn't complaint and seemed to process the tracks anyway but with odd results..

so, as bluedad said.. just install the card's drivers (completely) and install again

If you've reinstalled SX, have you also tweaked the audio settings - I assume there is a page somewhere to set the number and size of buffers etc, whether it works as a sequencer or tape recorder or both (dunno if those settings are in SX, but you used to have to tweak them with VST.)

Maybe the default settings are just wrong, like most other default Cubase settings.

Only a thought.

Thanks everyone, a reinstall of the drivers did the job! :D
