Hello,
Just upgraded to T7, long time user (since T2) and big fan of Tracktion.
When watching the videos for T7, It looked like it would work like Sonic Foundry Acid, that it would automatically play back loops in sync with the tempo of the edit, and if it sounds good, you could drag it in and it would be auto time stretched to fit the edit. This is not working for me.
I've tweaked the settings, and I've tried (what seems like) every option in the edit screen.
I'm using Win 7 64.

Do your loops have tempo/pitch information embedded in them? To check you should see a bpm and key above the waveform preview in the browser.
If not, Tracktion won't be able to determine how it should sync the file to the Edit.

To answer your question - no. , when I click on it in the preview player, it only has sample rate, bit rate and time.
This is a percussion loop from a Future Music Sample CD.
How do I go about embedding the tempo/pitch info? The folder that this loop is in has already been scanned via the loop dialog on the settings screen, I had thought that would make it ready to go.

I used the loop properties tab to update the tempo and pitch info, that's good (not sure if there's a way to batch that info in).
Loop stretches large and small to match the tempo, that's good.
Next question, whether I have "auto pitch" off or on, the pitch does not change when I speed up or slow down the tempo. Anyone else having this problem?

I'm not sure if I'm understanding you correctly but it sounds like it's doing what it's supposed to? If you have "Auto-Tempo" on, this will keep the pitch regardless of the temp changes it goes through.
"Auto-Pitch" is slightly different in that if you have a root note set in the "Loop Properties" tab, it will re-pitch the clip (independently of speed) to match they key of the song at that point.
If you want to change the pitch of the clip you can do so with the "Pitch offset" property.
As for the previous question, Tracktion recognises WAV Acid loops and AIFF & CAF Apple Loops. It sounds as though the files from Future Music just aren't in this format. As you've discovered, you can enter this information in manually on the Loop Properties page or use "Beat Points" -> "Auto Detect Tempo" to try and analyse it automatically.
