Might give it a try if Tunefish 3 is allowed as I find it more stable and easier to control.

Yeah, sorry my real real badrghvdberg wrote:Guys, please specify which version of the plug-in you're using when reporting bugs.
Making the plug-in is very easy btw.
My problems are with 4.1.0 Beta4
I too may switch to TuneFish 3 if I need to. Still want to enter ... would be a shame to "miss" ...

PS Yup, "make" is just a wonderful thing eh? Having to develop and teach OpenGL on unix and windows with as much common code as possible was such a pain
I just enjoyed programming the DEC GT40 most of all ... nice to work down at raster interrupt level!

LFO "Synchronized" not working in 4.0.1, 32-bit, FruityLoops 12.
I assume it should be retriggerd on key input or each bar. Neither work.
Also saving presets doesn't work. When I load the sound I've saved, it doesn't bring the same sound back.

Yeah, synchronized does not work here either. 4.0.1, 64 bit, Renoise. Afraid to try the beta versions in case they break something... but actually I have no problem with preset recall, cpu or random bugs, it's just sync I'm having an issue with. Luckily I can get around it using native lfos, but would be nice from an esoteric standpoint for everything to be contained within the synth.

I've got a loop which I can play in 6/4 4/4 or 12/8.
maybe I gonna do them all in one track

A few days with no working phone or internet
Back now tho
Tried the latest 4.1.0 Beta4 - 64bit version with mulab and cubase 7.5, both working fine, thank you Payne_bc
The patching system now works great. I am finding very low cpu usage with or without animations and moving waveforms.
I am having similar problem mentioned elsewhere regarding display of the mod matrix and effects stack slots though. When opening an instance of tf4, or importing a prev saved patch (fxp) these all show blank. The sound and response of the patch is as it should be, just the display is wrong. Using the prev and next buttons easily fixes the problem for me.
Also the 'synchronized' option for the LFO's does not work at all
However, neither of these are showstoppers for me and have been having great fun with sound design

OK this is what I found will work for me ...
In REAPER I save the patches as fxp and they will restore OK.
The problems with the display of parameters on patch load or also on re-instantiation of the VST (akin to minimise/maximise window!) is to do what Richard says (thanks a bundle there), simply press PREV and NEXT and that seems to fill in all the missing parameters including the matrix and effects slot texts.
So, with 4.1.0 Beta4 (32-bit) is it possible to get a track done. A very different synth but surprising sounds come out of it, so thanks for letting us drive it.
Hopefully we can get some patch exchange going on soon.

Is there a way to connect velocity to a parameter within the synth? Although I can easily do this using a Renoise meta device...

Hmm... doesn't look like it. Using a renoise meta device, I can automate the volume, but can't find a way to get independent velocity per voice with polyphonic patches. Independent velocity per voice would be a welcome addition, though I'd imagine it'd be difficult to implement... besides, the synth is pretty versatile in other respects so it's easily forgiven, hahaHanz Meyzer wrote:Is there a way to connect velocity to a parameter within the synth? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make a decent sounding kick with this synth? The built-in 'Kick 1' sounds terrible (to me) and I haven't yet found a way to synthesize a decent sounding kick with tf4. All suggestions welcome. . .
Thanks to the developer for listening and implementing solutions! Much appreciated.

The bass guitar was a little bit easier.
A think I can make a good rock'n roll this month!
A big drawback is the modulation matrix without velocity as a source.

Pfhahahah...shiii...t. Tunefish is quite brilliantly evil!
Rather than letting the DAW save presets with the song/project, it appears to just save the reference to the preset on the disk. As a result, if you happen to write over a preset...well... any song/project that has used a different sound AT that preset will be screwed.
I noticed that as I was just going to send you my kick, which was working quite well. But let me emphasize WAS!

...I dunno...I think, I might sit this one out. I have a few other things I'd like to do like finishing up Cirque for all of us!

I noticed this too. Some days ago. I'm going to do a very basic arrangement this time, due to these problems on preset management.Taron wrote:Pfhahahah...shiii...t. Tunefish is quite brilliantly evil!

I promised for myself try to participate in every OSC from now, even if my track isn't that good.

Yeah, I thought I could keep that up, too. But then...it's for the joy of it above all else. I only regret having missed 2 OSCs since I joined, which I really wanted to do (Lokomotive and Xhip).
Anyway, keep at it then. The challenge can be extra fun when it's rough.

Well, I decided to go with the version 3. It has almost all the same problems as version 4, just not the bug on preset selection click, but it sounds better to me and more controllable.

Well, I don't have any problems with loading presets in tunefish & the projects loads correctly the sounds, I don't use the built-in preset system, what I do is : save the presets as fxp, and no problems with it.
I normally design the sounds in cantabile lite, and later then load them into renoise (or mulab...) and works fine. However a problem that sometimes happen, is when I update to a new version of the synth, then there are errors loading presets saved from old versions, but with savihost I was able to force a load, and then save (overwrite) the fxp from the new version of tunefish, and then it works smooth again.
Maybe some of you could try to use fxp programs instead of the built-in system?
