Hello,

I brought my VIP 2 Receptor August 2015. About 1 month ago I started getting an ERROR 34 and the unit would not boot up. I have been in contact with Plugorama and found out they do not have anymore support techs.
I spoke to Matt at Plugorama about my situation. We did try reseating the cables on the drive. But still no results.
This is very disturbing to me because I am new at this. Do you know if there are any companies that I can reach out to?

The tech tech number with Plugorama is Ticket ID: 8596 for more information on my problem.

Reaching out..sinking fast...

Thank you,

Bernard

Hello
Have you checked the forum for posts about units with similar problems.I seem to remember having seen this before in a post here while back.

Is the harddrive silent or is it making any strange noises when it boots.

Have you conected a screen to the receptor.
Is there any text on the screen after the error 34.

Have you tried just leting the unit run ?

Sometimes the OS or HD can have a problem that it can fix itself but it may take an hour or 2 for it diagnos and fix.

It could be errors on the disk or some other problem.let it run over night and see what happens.

Unfortunatly if it is a Harddisk crash ie a physical problem ,or serious software problem you may need a new Os or new drive. There are people ime shure here that can provide you with an Os image that you or a tech can transfer to a new HD to reeplace the old one.
The proroblem with this is that you will loose all your plugins, and and even worse your rack mode licence.
The only way to get new licence is through Muse it is long number that you have to input while the unit is online.
If your lucky maybee Bryan will help you he was on the ither day.
Good luck Andy

Hello,
I have been looking for that post but have not found it yet. Hard drive is silent and no noise on boot up.
I have connected a screen to the receptor but the screen will flash, looks like a bar filling up then the screen goes blank and does it again.
I was in contact with Matt and he told me how to get to the BIOS it showed the OS drive I entered that but still the same problem.
Also to reconnect the cable to the disk. Nothing.
I have not tried letting it run overnight, maybe 30min tops.

So you mean i would have to back up my drive and buy another drive to put in the receptor? If you find out people that can help please let me know.
Bryan Lanser still there?

Thank you for the help.

No i mean if your drives "Software"
is corrupt then you will have to replace it,by geting a copy of software from another machine or from Muse ,and trandfering it to your machine (like a transplant).Either by transfering an image of the new drive onto your driveif it is working .
or replacing your drive with a new one that contains a copy (clone) software (OS)from a receptor that is working.

But i would start by leting it run for a few hrs to see if it starts.

Hello,

Do you know how I can find out the model number of the type of drive is inside the Receptor? My thinking is if the drive dies one day.
I can replace it with the back.

Thanks,
Bernard
