Hey guys,
I assume this was asked a thousand times already? There is no Melda plug to play a file/sample?
I could use MCompare, however I'd like to play it alongside the rest of the project, and that's not possible with MCompare, you can either play a file or your project, but not both.
So could maybe MRecorder be pimped so it can also play files, or an MPlayer plugin added?
Cheers, Thorsten

Even a basic MSampler / MPlayer could make MXXX an even more potent creative tool. One such workflow: load up MXX in a super lightweight host (like HostingAU) and use it to load up a sample and process it to your heart's content, all within MXXX, and then save it as a preset to use later in a studio session, or render the new sample out. Imagine the possibilities!
Bonus points for having a standalone MXXX!
When in a creative mood, sometimes it's useful not to have to load up a fully fledged DAW in order to have some fun!

+1 too. I was going to put in a request for this but thought it had already been requested and vojtech said he had big plans for something later.
I'd be happy with something that could be triggered on a threshold (or at least just a 'play' button that could be modulated using the standard modulators) and a pitch/speed control that can also be modulated. I've set up stuff in reaktor but the Melda modulators are so much better.
This could be awesome for use with mxxx and MMorph.

Well, here's the thing - either I can spend time on creating these utilities with somewhat limited use, or focus on something bigger
. So that's about it
. People here are filling the queue so much, that in fact in several months there was almost no progress on the big stuff such as the "mixing revolution", so, well this would be a no I'm afraid.
You see you want a sampler. And I'm looking forward to make one in MYYY. But vectorwarrior already wrote a few ideas in this thread, which made me say "No" to this all, because this is how it starts
. Next you will want velocity layers, key mappings, multisamples, etc. and there you have a new instrument
. But there's just no time for that.

Well, it's your fault for building all these tools and allowing us to dream and want more…
In all seriousness, take it for it is: a bunch of keen and enthusiastic folks providing ideas and suggestions to make your products better – I know, I know, you already have LOADS of ideas and suggestions, and just not enough time – as a fellow software engineer I sympathise with you and can relate (to some extent).
Like with all software I use, I don't expect every suggestion and idea to make it in (otherwise you end up with Microsoft Office!) Personally, I'd expect and hope that the company/person building the software would translate my needs and connect it with their vision, and ultimately produce useful software, sometimes taking leaps and bounds (that's the beauty of software – see how far things have come in the last decade – imagine where it will go!)
So, if you say MYYY will be the killer tool that we need… I await it patiently and will fill my needs in other ways in the meantime
(But if building a simple sampler takes you a few days, and does 50% of what most people need, then just ignore all the additional requests and do it!! You never know, you might learn a lot from this experience that then feeds into MYYY for the better

Hehe yeah
.
You know, a sampler is something that really needs a lot of work imho. There are plenty of silly tools like that on the market and I don't think the world needs one more. But it needs something superawesome

and how soon can we expect to get/hear at least a glimpse of what you are cooking up for us?MeldaProduction wrote:Hehe yeah.

I think the message is "if you guys keep making feature requests... never"
Ha ha
It looks like there's a few big projects going on though, namely MYYY and the mixing revolution thing. I'm sure they'll be worth the wait whenever they hit.

You can of course load any samples you like (not just drums) into MDrummer, but yeah, lot of mucking about assigning say bagpipes samples to pads (= drum types) and associating them with input midi notes...but yeah, do-able. Can't wait for MYYY

OK, I agree. And certainly the bigger things will be more interesting.MeldaProduction wrote:Well, here's the thing - either I can spend time on creating these utilities with somewhat limited use, or focus on something bigger
