Congrants to winners! great tracks!

Post

Congratulations to the winners from the "oldtimer" , and also a big pat on the back for everyone else as well - many many very good pieces both composition wise and sound design wise.

As usual I hit the mid point - seems half of you like what I do and half don't - that's life and I'll keep on making my own styles of music in this challenge. Oh yes Steven, I got SIX 1's but I'm not going to let that bother me - I know there will be folk who simply don't like MOR tunes (let alone tunes which go back to the distant echoes of time) and generally have a typical "song" structure - ie

Intro
---Verse
---Chorus
---Refrain
---... repeat as necessary
End.

It's just great being here with many very good musicians - as I have said before, I have learnt a lot, and will continue to learn and hone MY craft. :tu:

Just hope my solo was up to standard and it was appreciated by some. :hihi:

See you all soon,

dB

I guess before I vanish from these halls for the last time, I should at least congratulate the winners and not be a total ass, as hard as that is for me. My mom used to tell me I had the social intelligence of a sponge.

Like I said, I gave out 17 5s for this one. The quality of the tracks was just off the charts amazing. Why aren't you guys doing this for a living? You're certainly good enough to.

Anyway, I've got plenty to do to keep me busy without these competitions. I've got my synth patch business, songwriting, TGC Golf tourneys (totally addicting) and stuff outside the house, even though it seems like I'm always here. So believe me, I won't miss this. Stuff I'm not good at I always eventually get tired of. I even stopped writing songs for a 5 year period from 2003 to 2008. That was after over 25 years of non stop writing. Even there, eventually the frustration of never having any kind of success at all took its toll. I mean 25 years (started in 1979) is a long time. Today, I just write for my own enjoyment (something I should have done from the start) and not to try to have a career.

Anyway, congrats to the winners and the other 12 guys I gave 5 stars to. You guys are amazing. And sorry for being just one big jerk about all this.

I don't handle failure well.

Wag, it's been great to have you. Keep writing your music, of course, since there's nothing like making music, really.
I hope, you'll keep stopping by every now and then and when you've found the right spirit again and realize that writing songs for the OSC is meant to be writing music for yourself above all else and only sharing it here, we'll be happy to get your wacky tunes back! ;)

You can always bring a smile to my face. I called your track right on the nose. Knew you were a shoe in for top 5. If you've got a Soundcloud account, would love to hear other stuff of yours if you have it.

Congrats z.prime, Jasinski, Meakaale, Taron and ThePresent all well deserved

Terrific. I'm actually gonna go listen to some of your stuff tonight. I've already listened to a couple of Jasinski's albums. Guy's amazing.

Anyway, off to finish my work for the day and then gonna hit Soundcloud.

Halfway down my website you'll see a player from soundclick.com, which has a whole bunch of my ancient songs, including a whole set of reason songs, all done mostly just with its Subtractor synth. Those are almost 20 years old by now, I think.

Anyway, thanks for giving it a listen!

Congrats to the winners! All very well-deserved, but especially impressive in such a banner month.
