Routing audio output of the sampler back into another track

I've been using Tracktion since last October but only recently got my old serial midi keyboard to work in OS X. The stealthmidi driver did the trick.

Now I'm trying to do something very simple that I used to do with a separate computer: record the audio output of a sampler directly into Tracktion. No midi/sampler to edit and eat cpu after I perform a part. Is that so wrong?

Can this be done internally without a third party soundcard?

I tried changing track one's output to track two but that won't allow me to record enable the track.

Thanks.

Yepp. that's as intended.

Either you do the "classic" way by rendering the track, or you could try to re-route your outputs of the soundcard (if possible - depends on the drivers) and record the output with another program (e.g. Wavelab).

Sorry, no better ideas... :?
