Trouble Recording Audio into MuLab 7

Hi all,
I'm new around, and wasn't able to find a thread with any answers...
I'm trying to record into MuLab 7 for an audio track. I create the track, and once I record, nothing is there. I'm using an old Logitech mic I got years ago. It's just a 3.5mm microphone. I've checked it as working with my Windows 10 voice recorder and even tried disabling the built-in microphone on the laptop in case I was confusing MuLab. So far, I haven't been able to find where I can select a microphone through MuLab and figured that may be part of the problem.
But wait, there's more!
Because of this issue, I just decided to record the raw audio with the Windows voice recorder and then import the files into MuLab. Well... MuLab didn't want to recognize the M4A files. So I converted them to MP3. It still didn't see them in its file browser so I just dragged and dropped them onto the audio track. This worked, but I could only do so as "Pitched Sample" or "Sliced Sample." The Sliced would not play back for me, and only the Pitched seemed to actually play my tracks through MuLab. You may see where this is going. Since I chose Pitched, it will only play back if my cursor is at the beginning of the clip, and I can't trim it without destroying it. If anyone can help, I'd sure be grateful. This program is insanely promising, but it's been kind of a hassle so far.
Thanks!

Thanks for the link. I read through it, but I'm not sure I've come to success yet. Here are my recorded metronome clicks, but I still can't quite get audio in from my external microphone.pljones wrote:Did you spot this recent post?

I just managed a work around (for now). MuLab lets me import .wav files as a "streamed file." I have been attempting other types of files. This is what I've needed in order to access and utilize the built-in audio lab. My other issue, to reiterate, I am still needing to record my audio in a separate program and that's what I haven't been able to rectify.

What audio inputs have you selected for MuLab?

I'm not sure I can answer helpfully... In MuLab 7 I don't know where I can go to select a preferred audio input. The "Audio Setup" from the MuLab menu doesn't seem to have it and I feel like I've searched for it forever.

What Audio Driver Type have you selected in Audio Setup? You need ASIO if you want to record as otherwise you'll have large amounts of latency causing you problems. Do you have an ASIO driver for your audio card?

Hi travis99079,
No doubt pljones would direct you to:
http://asio4all.com/
asio4all is officially supported on win 10 so you should be good to go.
-Cheers
