Does anyone have multichannel midi recording working on T7? i.e. from an MPE device.
my understanding, is that if you set your device to 'Record to note automation', then all note data (PB/CC/Pressure) should be stored 'per note' .
(this is to be used with expressive controllers such as the linnstrument/roli/continuum which utilise MPE)
but Im finding the PB is 'combined' , so whilst its stored per note, it has combined the PB.
(in my test the PB varies on midi channel 1 and 2)
note: if I create per note automation manually on a clip and set to multi channel mode then this works as expected. so it simply seems to be recording.

Interesting. Tracktion shouldn't have a problem with it, given that Roli software uses Juce. I reckon pressure has always been per note, but pitch bend and control codes were not.
I found this on the Roli site. It specifically mentions recording with Tracktion. You can download a Tracktion template to use:

There was a thread about recording multi-channel input a few days ago and virtual MIDI devices were mentioned in it.

Tracktion that Roli article/template, actually uses Tracktor without 'per note automation', it actually records separate tracks, for separate midi channels. This should not be necessary for Tracktion due to per note automation , as can be seen even you use the clip editor.
so my suspicion is that this is a bug or underdeveloped feature...
(its also odd that Tracktion still has MDC options, as this has been dropped by Roli, and has been replaced by MPE)
This is where my interest in Tracktion stems from, as few DAWs support this.. Cubase has good support, and Bitwig has limited support. so at Tracktion's price point its a really 'selling point'

Seems odd, give that the Roli software uses Juce. I'd ask support@tracktion.com.

I left a message on their website, if I don't get a response I'll try the email address, thanks.
Juce only recently added MPE support, so its not entirely surprising its not there yet...but I do think its not that much effort for Tracktion to implement... but we will see
