I am using Softube Modular as my VST.

When I go to pull up a preset, it defaults to the default location for their stock presets. I have a folder inside of that default location that I want to access to pull up my own presets. How do I change the path to be able to do this? I can't see any way of doing this.

Softube Modular does not have its own browser system. That's the problem.

Thanks for the assistance.

Also, using the Open VST Folder at the top of your plugin window you can navigate to your desired folder, open a preset and it is remembered next time. That's my preference for browser-less synths.

There is only an "Open VST File" option. No "Open VST Folder" option.

I tried the file option, navigated down, changed the extension to .vstpreset so that the presets would show up, which they did, tried to open a file but it would not open.

I then tried copying a file from the folder I created to the default Softube Modular folder and when I then went to the browser to pull it up, it doesn't even show up.

I am beyond confused at this point. I may have to suspend sales of this library because I am afraid a lot of people may run into this problem. I can't figure out how to access my Wagsrfm folder in MuLab as there is no open folder option, only an open file option and that doesn't work.

Okay, here are the exact steps that I took. First off, I am in MuLab 6, not 7. Don't know if that matters.

Step 1) Pulled up Modular as my VST.

Step 2) Clicked on the box next to where it says "default" in the MuLab browser. The box reads "Open VST File" when I hover over it.

Step 3) Clicked on "File Filter" and changed to .vstpreset. At this time, all the files in the sub folder that I navigated to show up. So far, so good. Right?

Step 4) I highlight the first file in the list and click OK. It does not load.

Step 5) I tried step 4 with one of the factory files. It too does not load. The only way to load a factory file is to go to where it says default in the browser and scroll down the list. In other words, the "Open VST File" option simply does not work with Softube Modular.

Did you see the Browser functions in the Docs link above?

Yes, I just tried that as well. I navigated down to the Wagsrfm folder, highlighted the first preset, tried to drag it into Softube Modular but it won't let me. In fact, I tried dragging it to any place in MuLab and it won't let me.

Are you sure that you're talking about the standard VST preset files ie files with extension FXP or FXB?

No, as I said, I changed the extension to *.vstpreset which is what I had to convert these to in order to use in Cubase. I also changed the Factory files to vstpreset format as well, which work fine if I use the default browser. However, I can't use the default browser to navigate down to the folder I created within the default location which is...

documents/vst3 presets/softube/modular

Inside the above path is a folder Wagsrfm. I can't get to that folder within the default browser. I can only get to that location using the browser on the right hand side. However, using that browser it doesn't allow me to drag the preset to the plugin.

Now, if you are telling me that this will only work with fxb files, fine. How do I convert vstpreset files into fxb files?

For that matter, why should I even have to do this? The vstpreset files inside the default browser load fine. So why can't I drag them to the plugin using the browser on the right?

MuLab does not know a file extension .vstpreset.

Okay, I found a fix.

http://www.indygo.de/fxtractor/#download

It converts .vstpreset files into fxb files. I ran a test with one of my presets and it worked. I can now load it from the "Open VST File" option.

I have a feeling that this library is going to be more of a headache than it's worth.
