Nope, this is not dependent on midi, but being able to do this would be awesome as well. In fact it was the first idea I thought of for my problem.
And there are a very small number of plugins where they've been specially written so that multiple instances can control each other
Yeah, like the one I'm using. But this one doesn't synchronize well when using it this way. In case you're on linux, do you know any other linux VST or ladspa plugins that can do this well? Maybe they work better than my 4 band parametric
Why wouldn't you use a stereo eq plugin?

It will literally do exactly what you're trying to do. There's no reason I can think of to use two separate mono eqs to eq the left and right channel of a stereo track with exactly the same settings. That's what a stereo eq does.

Which would be an issue with the plugin, and nothing whatsoever to do with Tracktion or racks, or anything else.

If you want to do this, just do the same rack I posted before, and connect the midi input of the rack to the midi input of both mono plugins in your rack. Done.

I really doubt it; AFAIK there's nothing in Tracktion, or in racks that allows one plugin's controls to affect a different instance of the same plugin.

It might be that what youve seen is two plugins set up to respond to the same MIDI controller, and that's controlling them both. If Tracktion even lets you do that, Im not sure.

But I dont see how what you're describing can be done; there's no mechanism for routing parameter info between plugins.
Tracktion do this I use it all the time.
Just Load a vst.
now look at the properties panel at the bottom.
Ypu will see a gray box in the bottom left corner that read Drag-and-drop here to make this plugin mirror its Parameters.
So open the slave plugin first then drag the plug you want it to mirror to the box an wala a mirror effect

Because this is the plugin I want to use. What do you do when you have a mono plugin you love but can't use it because you have a stereo track? you either find a stereo version, abandon your plugin and use another one or if your daw permits, make the mono plugin work somehow on the stereo track. I chose the latter.

Well unfortunately I haven't got a good midi controller :P but I will try that when I get one

Again, the plugin I want to use doesn't work well with this feature. There is an awful delay between the slave and master

All that does, or rather all it seems to have ever done for me, is copy the current state of one plugin to the other plugin when you drop on the box. Once its copied, that's it, as far as I can tell it has to be redone if you change the first one.

That's not actually the same thing as continuously controlling one from the other (which seemed to be what the OP is looking for).

Well okay, except ... you've chosen an option that doesn't actually work. Not the way you want it to.

You can do what you want to do if you jump through the hoop of copying the settings from one plugin to the other, in the rack, or if you find a stereo eq to replace the plugin you want to use, or if you get a midi controller and map that to both mono plugins, and use that to control both, or if you accept the latency involved in the plugin itself copying it's settings to the other plugin... but if you don't like any of those options... you can't actually do the option you've chosen...

You can do what you want to do ... ...
I'm positive I saw someone doing that. If I could only find the source

I don't mean to be an arse, but I think you've seen somebody doing something similar, but not actually what you're trying to do. If it can be done, i'll be surprised, put it that way... and I've been using Tracktion since before version 1.6 ...
