Hi folks,

next update is here ;). 10.03 is an important update and comes with several new improvements, features and some fixes. It is recommended to install this update. To do that, get the newest version from MeldaProduction download page and use it.

Additionally MBassador, a unique bass enhancer and sub-bass generator, has been released. It is free for MTotalBundle, MMixingBundle and MMasteringBundle users and now available for an introductory price. It has been added to MXXX and MPowerSynth as well.

Can we restart the mixing contest? Solar with added sub-bass will be tremendous :)

MBassador is great. Could be called MBadass! :D It's a lot like MaxxBass, LoAir and Lowender in one.

I haven't checked with analyzer but I'm wondering if there's a steep high-pass filter under the hood, or it that's something that could be added?

With all this crazy bass (that can eat a ton of headroom), it would be nice to be able to cut everything below 10-30Hz etc.

While were on the subject, someone told me FIR filters are the best for cutting out the low end at 30hz (ish)
Is this true? To be honest I don't really know what a FIR filter is.

I'm not sure. I use DMG EQuilibruim and use a 48db/oct butterworth filter because it's the steepest without any weirdness at the cutoff point. There's one called legendre that's slightly steeper but it seems a bit esoteric and not something I've seen elsewhere.

Yes I used to use DMG EQuilibrium too, its a great EQ. I Believe it uses IIR rather than FIR. I like the way it replicates the curves and band and Q interaction to model hardware EQs.

Voject is working on MTurboEQ, so that could be VERY promosing if MTurboComp is anything to go by.

Thank you folks!

As for the FIR filters - if you activate the linear-phase switch, then it will be a LP FIR ;).

Let me just say again how great MBassador is.................Its great!

Something I need explaining to me though, please.
If I turn Wet all the way down and Dry all the way down, why do I still hear the audio?
It doesn't make sense to me. Surly Dry is my original bass without any changes and Wet is what is added to the signal by MBassador.

Please explain.

 Forget it, I just worked it out.

For those who want to know:
DRY = Original audio bellow the range (LP Filter)
WET = Additional harmonics and sub harmonic content added to the audio.
Anything above the range setting will always pass through the plugin (even if Dry is at 0%)

Just see you found out :-)

jmg8 you are using the beta, right? :) Just get the newest version from the website, it is now "Dry bass" and there's Solo bass button as well. It should be much more straightforward.

I am on the latest version. It says "dry bass" and there is a solo bass button too. What i discribed above it still correct yes?

Yes! The high frequency content will always pass unless you enable the "Solo bass".
