Tracktion and Soundfonts

Is this a bug? I have a SBLive card using KX drivers and am trying to play soundfonts (just a basic GM bank - the free version of Synergy) as loaded into the card. I set my midi in to KX uart and out to the default midi out (which is set to KX synth - the engine for playing soundfonts) but when I try to change patches using "set program" the text changes in the program box but the sound stays on Piano - the only way it will change patch sound is when I send program changes from my midi controller but I can't do it using Tracktion itself.
Is this something I'm doing wrong or a bug?

Are you sending your Prg Changes on the same MIDI channel as your notes?

All I know is when I press the up/down buttons on my Korg the patch changes (but not the displayed patch name) but when I click the set program button in Tracktion to change patches the patch name changes but the sound doesn't - so probably not
- I'm not sure how to set this up to work the way I want (unless it is a bug) - I thought it would be simply a case of connecting the midi in (only one of those) with the midi out that plays soundfonts (3 of those but KX Synth 1 should be the right one I think) - it works in other apps I've done this with.

Select the MIDI in icon, and set the MIDI channel to 1.
Now select the MIDI clip you want to set the patch for: set this also to channel 1.
Does it work now?

It does when I have a midi clip I am recording into but not when record is off. Seems a bit quirky but at least it's accepting program changes in this way now so it'll do - thanks.
