Seems like they would just need some kind of vocal synth, then they would a have a full band

Yes, but Omnisphere covers a lot of that, especially after the 2.0 update.Tet-64 wrote:Seems like they would just need some kind of vocal synth, then they would a have a full band

I'm enjoying some of the translations from their Twitter feed:

On his facebook page Eric has said "nope" to Stylus 2, Guitar, Brass, Orchestral, DAW, hardware , something rhythmic, and sampling. Not long now til we see this new voice vst.

No to guitar? Doh! Back to the spectra-drawing board, but I did give them some nice specs (if you will). Has to be voice now... I'd have thought less broad appeal.

It still says 1 day on the site. So does that mean tomorrow we find out?

I personally don't want anything except either a new product or lot's more features + lot's more patches. Traditionally anually and semi anually Spectrasonics release lot's of extra patches and new updates. I don't want guitars, orchestral, stylus 2, trillian 2, or voice but I must say voice would be the tastiest. Or orchestral in ways but I have in mind to do personal collection synth orchestral based on freely available midi's. It's no more illegal than karaoke to re-work classical songs and pop songs with expensive soft synths if you own the soft synths.
But try to avoid joining them against me. And read my Reason thread. Logic is superb of a deal also I mention and Omni is best bang for your buck especially if you addon more banks in spite of it's large price. Logic X Pro has Alchemy 2. I recommend logic in ways over Cubase but I hate routing effort in DAW's in ways and jumping through hoops that aren't necessary in Cubase for mixing like the necessity to avoid clipping in every channel. In Reason and Cubase it's easier to avoid distorted clipping. It seems like mixing in Logic Pro X is more along the lines of a standard mixing setup. It's weird with Cubase REWIRED to Reason that you can max out the volume more and get a pleasing sound when you add virtual magnetic saturation. I don't like Cubase's tape saturation but I like using Tube compression and Magneto magnetic tape saturation in Cubase.
Guys, Luftrum 14 just came out for Omnisphere and has 100 patches including multi's in a similar vein to the Omnisphere Luftum 11 bank that is really really awesome for Vangelis music and also space music. It seems like it's really good for ambient, new age, soundscape & space music. I am going to jump on it and also pick up STiX but I have to buy STiX at retail because I doubt anyone will be reselling it. XILS Labs STiX is probably the best organic sounding drum box. It's easy to program and full featured. Anyhow when you have Luftrum's preset's also consider getting presets for Omni from TheUnfinished.co.uk. VintageSynthPads.com is superb for Omnisphere too. But i felt a little uninspired by the VSP pads as though they were too new agey. In ways the best to go with is Luftrum. I'm on it today when I get my check or tomorrow. $49 dollars 100 sounds all for pads, textures, soundscapes and arps and effects. Both single patches and mulltis. Luftrum Ambient banks 1 & 2 for Omnisphere are must haves.

Nah, it'll be today. The California tech work day doesn't start until around 10:30. I'm thinking it'll also take a few hours for them to deploy the new website for the product to the internet.wagtunes wrote:It still says 1 day on the site. So does that mean tomorrow we find out?
My guess is 12:00-12:30pm PDT is when we'll find out.

My vote is for something more akin to Alchemy's additive style synthesis combined with Zynaptic Morph and Omnisphere's Innerspace. That's one area of synthesis that gives dramatic changes with a few parameters and works well with a large sample library.

I mentioned this earlier... I wouldn't be surprised if it was an Advanced Modular Synthesis System.
