I'm betting that along with the new instrument a new website will launch. This might explain why they have not pulled the trigger just yet.

C'mon Eric, it's already approaching the afternoon in Hawaii. PLEASE NO VOCALOID CRAP!!!!
For the love of God, people, please just learn to sing.... or hire a REAL vocalist.

Don't be surprised if you're terribly disappointed.quantum7 wrote:C'mon Eric, it's already approaching the afternoon in Hawaii. PLEASE NO VOCALOID CRAP!!!!For the love of God, people, please just learn to sing.... or hire a REAL vocalist.

But does Spectrasonics cater to just professional producers? And if they finally perfected the technology to where it sounds as good as a real singer, just like some sample libraries sound almost as good as the real thing, why not?Vortifex wrote:I thought about this, and then I wondered who would actually use it. Professional producers would just hire a singer anyway.wagtunes wrote:I'm calling it now. It's going to be a Vocaloid type VST.
Love 'em or hate 'em, Yamaha's Vocaloid is very popular with a lot of people. Just go to YouTube and Soundcloud and look at all the Vocaloid tracks. Covers, originals, you name it.
What else could Spectrasonics do that wouldn't be at least loosely related to something that they already have?
I mean using that same argument, why don't professional producers just hire live orchestras instead of using samples?
Plus, many who do hire live musicians also use samples for their mock ups. They need to have some idea of what it's going to sound like before they sink money into a 100 piece orchestra.
Point is, this isn't out of the realm of possibility even if you're just targeting the professional market.

Ten years in the making, and it's always the last couple of hours that are the most tedious...

In June I celebrated 13 years here at KVR, and this is hands down my favorite post in all that time.gremlinmoon wrote:

It was pretty funny, but I think jonsolo's reply in this thread is pretty epic:Hewitt Huntwork wrote:In June I celebrated 13 years here at KVR, and this is hands down my favorite post in all that time.gremlinmoon wrote:![]()

Thought it would be guitar - wrong. For that matter, thought I'd at least know what it was on Sept 1 - wrong.
Night all, will catch up with voca-or-whatever-it-is tomorrow.
Probably.

I am prepared to be "terribly disappointed' with some Vocaloid utter CRAP, but am hopeful that Eric wants a large amount sales of from his new baby, and I'm telling you all, a Vocaloid CRAP instrument is not going to sell anywhere near the amount of units that Omnisphere or Stylus RMX has. The only good thing about Eric loosing his mind by creating some Vocaloid piece of CRAP software would be that I will have more money in my checking account come later this month when I start my new studio build in the new home I recently bought.
