Well, this is starting to be not so amusing. It's 6:30 PM on the East Coast. CA is only 3 hours behind us which means it's 3:30 there. I mean how late in the day are they going to announce this?
And I will say this. If they don't announce this today, it's bad PR. If you had no intentions of announcing on Sept 1, don't say you're going to announce on Sept 1. It's only going to piss people off if you don't follow through.
I hope Eric is reading this thread and realizes he's coming dangerously close to losing a lot of credibility, no matter how insignificant this might be.
A lie is still a lie no matter how small.

Feel my 4pm pst prediction could be on the cards for the big reveal, in which case only a little over 20 mins to go, or 4.04, or 4.44, any later and it'll be bedtime and i'll STILL be finding out in '1 DAY...'

Nonetheless, this IS bad PR. And bad organization. I mean, considering that they're supposed to have a normal work day, they would be calling it a day soon, right? They should also keep in mind that central europe is a 3/4 day ahead in time, and most people will be in bed by now. A bit weak really.

I wish I had problems so small that this bothered me in any way.
I actually really actually mean that.

Right, but if you announce something majorly like that, you should try not to disapoint people like that. Why announce it at all then? Looks to me, as if they artificially wanted to produce a lot of talk, and excitement that way.

if they got a launchparty in the evening, starting into the weekend it's totally understandable to wait until then and celebrate the launch together.
