I was not expecting this but a couple minutes into the video I was hooked. Yes, I have Rhodes, Whurlies, Yamaha C7 libraries as well as NI Una Corda but the quality and quantity of this library with the variety is fantastic. $399 is a bargain. Spectacular job done Spectrasonics!

Fixed that for youwagtunes wrote:Or was this just one of those "F it! I don't care if the whole KVR hates this. It's what I want to do" projects?
I guess the number of people who need good sounding keys to play jazz, blues or pop is much greater than the number of those who love patching cables in virtual modulars.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

I honestly don't know what Eric was thinking. Did he REALLY think people would get excited over this? Or was this just one of those "F it! I don't care if the whole world hates this. It's what I want to do" projects?
Because it's the only thing I can think of that makes any sense.

Here's the problem. What he's done has been done a gazillion times already. There is no innovation here. There is nothing spectacular here. And at that price?recursive one wrote:Fixed that for youwagtunes wrote:Or was this just one of those "F it! I don't care if the whole KVR hates this. It's what I want to do" projects?

I'd be stunned if this sold a fraction of Omnisphere sales.

But all the hype, for THIS?
Seriously?
And why is everybody dumping on my opinion when it's shared by at least a dozen people in this very thread? Is it because maybe I'm KVR's favorite whipping boy?
How about reading some of the other comments and start dumping on them too?
This gets real old after a while.

I've just finished one tutorial about Reaktor and later I'll be taking a lesson in Piano

Me:
It's a nice, compelling product for some.
Definitely a labour of love, and they went to crazy efforts to reconstruct and sample those instruments.
It sounds great, and watching the video was fun and makes me wish I had some of the chops of those players.
It's not really a product that I would pay that amount for, but I know plenty of people that would, and yes, most of those people are actual skilled, playing musicians, rather than some of the other types of electronic music makers.
It's not really for me (although there were a good few sounds in the vid I thought were lovely.) and the thought of more Rhodes samples etc doesn't really light my world on fire.
KVR:
Dumbest. Product. Evah
Why didn't they make a virtual singer? Because, like, Vocaloid is awesome!
They shoulda made a DAW if they were smart
I expected the best, most forward thinking and innovative resynthesizing modular synth no-one's thought of before
Clearly the only smart move for them is hardware

Hype? What hype? They put a countdown on their home page saying we have a new product coming in a few days? And answered a few posts on social media? Hardly a blitzing media campaign...wagtunes wrote:But all the hype, for THIS?

Seems like all of the hype was coming from us, in threads like this, largely because we like Spectrasonics products in general and were actually interested in what they were coming up with next...

The innvoation may be in sound quality, playability, musical qualities etc., something that will be appreciated by actual piano palyers.wagtunes wrote:Here's the problem. Horses for courses, do you get it? Not any virtual instrument must be aimed at hardcore synth tweakers. I also have zero interest in this Keyscape but I'm sure it will be a quality product.

I've made my comments to counteract some of the arguments here. I'm quoting you because you are a part of this conversation at the same time as me (Why do I need to go back further?), and because no one has come with the ire, and the dramatic over-exaggeration, that you have
Also, you (as in we) are responsible for the hype. All they did was announce a new product, told us it wouldn't be what we expected, and told us they'd release it on the first of September. Y'all are disappointed because YOU hyped it up in your own minds, according to your own wishes and projections of what Spectrasonics SHOULD be doing, and you didn't get what you wanted
Biggest disappointment of 2016? My hairy arse!
