Got a newsletter from FAW that they release a free soundset expansion, then looking at the page, the bank contains 8 patches

I mean eight patches, even those old synthedit synths usually had a preset page that could hold 15 patches per bank.

Not been able to reauthorise this plugin since I updated to El Cap, no response from their support either. CR is a pain when companies are not willing to keep activations alive.

By curious coincidence I was playing something on Circle2 earlier today and, after encountering some crackling, went to the site to see if there was an update. I found that the blog there had been hacked by spammers: in late August by the looks of it.

I sent an email to their contact address letting them know. But that and the C/R server going down suggests they've either given up the ghost or they're on holiday and the hack has taken out more than just the blog.

I'm not sure if the CR server is down or I just need a new activation code because of the OS update, but what I have is not being accepted, and they have not responded to emails for over 2 weeks now.

this is why C/R is the devil.

this has happened to FAW a few times, though I can't recall if it was to this extent. if this shit happens even once, I think customers have a right to demand an alternative copyprotection method. C/R is bad enough, but if you're a flakey company or your servers are flakey or your IT guy is flakey or whoever it is they want to pin the responsibility on is flakey, well then it's really not an acceptable way to protect their plugin IMO. time for FAW to move to serial.

Indeed - although to be honest in this case I wasn't using Circle 2 much anyway, they never took on board requests for basic things like aftertouch support, preset management is terrible and it looks ugly since they turned it to a shitty brown/grey instead of the black.

I also didn't like the look of the new version and they changed the filters too.

Few and bad presets.

Shame, the GUI had potential.

It runs rings round some things and is easy as Pi.
