well, yeah..conventional machines can blow these specs away..
soo....
Why would someone wanna use this? I LOVE spending money..but this needs further validation before consideration..is it like crash proof or something? Can it do the Macarena?
I mean how does it benfit anyone really besides the devs looking for a 'crack proof' solution for software?
which doesn't work..just look at all the rtas/tdm plugs that can be had out there..

Yeah... it's fine, you want a great PC... but I don't care that you will stick on, seriously.Kriminal wrote:My PC is better than that, by a mile, and cheaper. I'll stick to windows for a few years thanks.
You guys are so dumb to compare thing are NOT comparable.
I can do nothing for you, if you don't understand Receptor, you will perhaps in the future.... when your species will grown-up to the maturity.
I don't spend all my time to try to explain you the Receptor.
So, Now if you want more informations, move your ass and find by yourself.
Bye bye guys

So I guess that means that you aren't a part of the Official Muse PR team, eh? Good thing you aren't getting paid for your selfless devotion to sharing the Good News..which reminds me, uh..do you know Lady J?SpIdErWeB wrote:Yeah... it's fine, you want a great PC... but I don't care that you will stick on, seriously.Kriminal wrote:My PC is better than that, by a mile, and cheaper. No, I'm nothing to do with Muse Team, or any other Team.
Just tired to see always the same thing, compare with a notebook, with a PC
It's always too expensive for anything, Even the free plug-ins are too expensive for you !!! If the Muse Receptor will be Free, it will be too bad because it's blue frontpanel, and you want a silver ...
But if you prefer buy another expander like Roland, Korg or Yamaha ... it's ok, but you not understand the power concept in Receptor.
If you prefer use a notebook or PC... yeah, it's ok too .... but you don't understand the space you can save, the mobility you can have.
Just compare specs with notebook, with soundcard, with all software .... take a look on price, it's not really different than Receptor. So why crying that Receptor is to expensive ? You prefer pay MS Windows Licence instead plugins ?
It's your choice, I respect it, it's up to you.
I will just try to help some buddy who search informations about Receptor, friendly... but I lose my time explain the goal and advantages of it... very sad.
Good luck to anybody

Considering i wont be using any plugs without my host, which wont work on Receptor, its VERY expensive, so yes, i'll stick with my PC and use a laptop if i want mobility.SpIdErWeB wrote: If you prefer use a notebook or PC... yeah, it's ok too .... but you don't understand the space you can save, the mobility you can have.

Don't be a twat mate. Consider where you're posting. If the c**ts here know anything it's music PC's, however they're boxed.SpIdErWeB wrote:No, I'm nothing to do with Muse Team, or any other Team.

Serious qusetion:
Lets assume i bought 100 VSTi's costing me £1000UK.
If i buy Receptor for £1500, do i get all the plugs that come with it free, thus making the ones i bought redundant. Am i in essence paying for the same plugs twice?
Is it possible to get a cheaper version and transfer my VSTi's to Receptor?

That'd be an interesting product.nuffink wrote: twat mate.
Well, 23rd of August will reveal more official Receptor discussion I imagine. I too thought SpiderWeb was officially from Muse there for a sec. Woops! But, if he was just trying to enthusiastically discuss the subject perhaps you guys were a little harsh and unfriendly. On KVR? Never!
I wonder if the conversation will get back on track or if it will be a round of offensive commentary until Ben closes it. I was kind of looking forward to a conversation about this unit myself.

Considering its not out yet, thats unlikey, and considering the price and what it does, i cant see many potential customers here.Squids wrote:I was kind of looking forward to a conversation about this unit myself.

No, I'm nothing to do with Muse Team, or any other Team.
That's good, because you have enormous potential to damage sales..
Just tired to see always the same thing, compare with a notebook, with a PC
It's compared to a normal PC becuase it's a new concept & ppl don't have another frame of reference..
It's always too expensive for anything, Even the free plug-ins are too expensive for you !!! If the Muse Receptor will be Free, it will be too bad because it's blue frontpanel, and you want a silver ...
What the f**k are you talking about? Who are you directing these comments to? I've spent about $6,000 this year on audio gear..soft & hard..I don't care WHAT it looks like, I wanna know how it works..I AM a prospective customer & my questions are VALID..
But if you prefer buy another expander like Roland, Korg or Yamaha ... it's ok, but you not understand the power concept in Receptor.
Uh..yeah, maybe that's why ppl are asking QUESTIONS about it, airhead..
So why crying that Receptor is to expensive ? You prefer pay MS Windows Licence instead plugins ?
I never said I thought the price was unreasonable, it looks fine to me. Like Robert said, an MSRP is crap to go by. If I can use this in the ways that I imagine, it's worth every dollar, but I wanna know how this is insulated from crashing if I'm onstage.
I will just try to help some buddy who search informations about Receptor, friendly... but I lose my time explain the goal and advantages of it... very sad.
You aren't helping anyone that I can see..just making a bunch of useless, un-informed comments on other ppl's rigs & thier use of software/hardware you know nothing about. I'll do better with the Muse PDF I just downloaded..maybe I can answer some questions here in a few..

You're right squids, I just try to enthusiast the discuss about a subject I like.Squids wrote:I too thought SpiderWeb was officially from Muse there for a sec. Woops! I don't want to be offensive for anybody or anything. As you said, I feel little harsh about the subject. Why kill something before it can be born ?I wonder if the conversation will get back on track or if it will be a round of offensive commentary until Ben closes it. I was kind of looking forward to a conversation about this unit myself.
BTW, Apologize to anybody who consider offense by me.
Kriminal : If you precise this, I understand more. Ok, if you have already bought almost all plugins (or all perhaps) of Receptor, you don't want buy them twice. But, this is more a problem with licence of software, because you can't resell them... It's not (IMHO) a problem about the price of Muse Receptor.
Receptor without any plugins will be a good option... wait the 23rd August to know

Krim had an excellent question about an empty shell model..but I doubt we're gonna see that inquiry responded to here..
Anyone besides Spider have any ideas on that? I'm stuffed to the gills with VSTi & fx..I don't need to pay twice for what I already have..

That was a good question. Probably that kind of info will be had when they open the forum officially I would assume.sickle666 wrote:Squids wrote:

I think the Spider realizes he was reacting a little sensitively and you guys know when you stir it up a little too. I am starting to see hope for this thread yet!
Of course, valid points made can be at different extremes. Always best without name calling but then I am starting to sound like some kind of teacher. Play nice!
Also, you had a good point Sickle about the "is it crash proof" question. One of the things I heard about the Receptor is that because it's OS is not Windows if it did crash it reboots in seconds instead of minutes. I saw this at last NAMM. It was cool. Like I said, I'd use it live instead of my laptop and it IS at least more beer proof than that I am sure!
Now about those truffles... mmmmmmmmm
