We'll have a look at glide, it's been brought up a couple of times & I do see the benefit. Question would be what to do with mismatches in number of active notes between snapshots – in RES that wouldn't really matter as you could just fade-out notes that have no counterpart in the destination snap, and fade in ones that are new. But for quantize...hmm.Hez wrote:Denis, would there be any possibility of adding a glide/portamento setting to the keyboard harmonic filter? Experimenting with some spacey drones this morning and when you're high on resynth/simplify the chord changes can sound quite abrupt. A way of setting the oscillators to gradually glide between snapshots (with variable time and possibly curve ideally) could sound really beautiful I think.
EDIT: And while I'm being a very demanding customer, microtuning support for this would be sick and make it a lovely partner for Kaleidoscope. Ideally implemented in a similar way, i.e. load a scale file and then set the root/centre note on the fly with a drop down, rather than having to continually bounce out .tun files every time you want to change key.
Microtonal...being a MetaSynth user i do see the benefit of that, but it's not exactly a small feature to add. We'll have to meditate on that a little. That said, the SUSTAIN (except for the simplify) as well as the track/hold HCF mode will use whatever tuning is inherent to the audio, no equal temperament and/or a440 enforced in any way.
