Here is a tutorial I made recently using MPowersynth. MPS is a great synth for this type of thing because of 1). Its power and 2). The amazing FX section. Anyway I hope this helps someone.

Cool !
I'd suggest doing something with the voiceover though, it seems like classic UFO mp3 overcompression

Possible, but my guess would still be a crap mic to comp connection with some internal compression.

Sounds like the earliest mobile/VoIP codecs or something.MeldaProduction wrote:Possible, but my guess would still be a crap mic to comp connection with some internal compression.

... but at least he does not talk too much bla bla like maaany other tutorial videos in this category (or even guys, who presnet their sample library). So nicely done!
Besides: MPW is indeed quite great for cinematic sutff. I also did many presets in cinematic context - even huge cinematic percussive sounds. Not with this technique here, though.

Actually I just figured out what it is. I was recording with my mic too low(it is the digital noise floor). I normalized the audio afterwards and then after the youtube compression, you have that nasty audio.

I already thought about making tutorial videos as well, but we'll see what the future brings (hopefully time to do it, hehe). In this thread I do not want to steal Chandler the show.ZentralmassivSound wrote:Now you made everybody curious I guess

Feel free to post anything you like. I'd be interested in hearing and learning more about Cinematic presets. Actually that might be a good niche for MPS. Cinematic sounds aren't really featured in any other synth AFAIK except Zebra(Dark Zebra specifically).Tagirijus wrote:I already thought about making tutorial videos as well, but we'll see what the future brings (hopefully time to do it, hehe). I like this tutorial. Besides making drums it also shows some great functions in MPowersynth
..thanks for sharing.

I already thought about that (regarding the cinematic presets). I'll see if I can take a look again on producing some tutorial-like videos!
