This is going to be a new normal for Windows 10 / iLok users.

Microsoft is doing its best to clamp down on security vulnerabilities. This also includes restricting system level drivers and such. Also a lot of the changes are not properly documented in release notes nor communicated to third party developers. Judging by the past I'm not optimistic that Pace can keep up. Another problem comes from the Windows update that does a clean reinstall in the case of major releases that tends to mess up software activations.

This is probably a different issue, but I just signed up for the Everything Bundle from Slate. I got the ILok2 from them on Saturday. Ilok Manager says that I am the owner of the ILok2. I am using the same email address for Slate, Gobbler and Ilok.

I download the Bundle and start up Logic Pro. The AU Validation starts up, saying that I have 10 new plug ins. As soon as I try to activate any of the plugins, I get a message saying that the "ILok2 isn't owned". I have re-synced it, deleted it and re-added it to my account, moved it to different USB ports, even a different USB hub. Nothing.

I contacted Slate, and Gobbler support got back to me on Sunday, basically saying that it should work, unless the ILok2 itself is defective. I sent them a bunch of screen prints, and I'm hoping that I hear back from them sometime today.

PACE had more than time to sove these issues. I have been reporting the problems to them since Windows 10 first release was in Beta. They arrogantly answered me back that they didn't support Beta versions.

Anyway, what you have to do is to launch Services (click on Search and type Services, then look for the app with the cog wheel), look for "PACE License Services", double click on it and choose the option Automatic (Delayed Start) - by default it comes as Automatic.

I had to do this even on Windows 7. I think this will solve the issues you reported above (anyway, the problem currently discussed is different). PACE is becoming more and more part of the problem, instead of part of the solution.

Anyways, you can't win with copy-protection threads.

We got it all straightened out - Gobbler had assigned an ILok User ID to me, even tho I already had one. I unlinked the ILok from the wrong User ID and linked it to the correct one. Slate re-issued the licenses to the correct User ID, and it's all good now :)
