Well they gave trilian users modulation and filters for bass and I'm sure everyone appreciated it. So they already have the engine, meaning it's not extra development. They just aren't making it available for people who only have keyscape. I'm not one of those people as I have Omni, but I still find it strange. Of course they can say, well if you want to do synthesis with it, you have to buy Omnisphere. It's just inconsistent with their other two instruments which have basic modulators for your own sound design. You can't seriously claim they keyboard users wouldn't like to have envelopes and lfo's to create their own dynamics and modulate filters and effects. It's a real shame they have provided people the means to do that when they already have the engine in their behind the scenes and have just edit the edit functionality. Not everyone can afford both this and Omnisphere.beely wrote:Each instrument has a range of knobs where you can change the character of the sound in useful ways, and change effects settings.
Piano players don't need to go, nor will want to go much deeper than this - a few knobs to change up the character, tone and balance, and maybe tweak an FX level, and that's it. That's an appropriate design decision, imo.
Remember, this product, of itself, isn't a synthesizer - so don't expect to be able to go in and tweak the filter envelope and mod marix routings etc. If you want to do that, and you own the synthesizer tool to do it (Omnisphere), then you *can* - and the people that want to tweak deeper and are more into synths will likely have, or want Omnisphere to do it.
Spectrasonics rumors...

If you look at the pictures of the UI you can see the special controls change per preset. That means several of the piano sounds have different macro controls, ones they feel contribute to changing the overall feel. Look at these screenshots:Echoes in the Attic wrote:Well they gave trilian users modulation and filters for bass and I'm sure everyone appreciated it.

You can see the first two have a character selection and the third has a tone (I think) knob. And looking at the other screens shows other configurations per-sound.
I agree, it's not as versatile as Omnisphere or even the Trilian macro pages, but that's pretty common for sample libraries like these, especially Kontakt instruments.
Feel free to call me Brian.

ya thats my whole point. The macros are there just like trilian which are controlling parameters that are hidden, whereas in trilian they are not hidden. I think its a bit lame for them not to have an edit page for non omnisphere users.bmrzycki wrote:If you look at the pictures of the UI you can see the special controls change per preset. BTW, was that launch in the NYC, although the company is from California? I guess most of the cool vibe jazz and blues guys performing here live in the NYC and are allergic for the bright sun light as bats

I think the level of control vs complexity they are offering is entirely suitable for the product's intended target audience, really... and Spectrasonics would seem to agree with me, so...Echoes in the Attic wrote:I think its a bit lame for them not to have an edit page for non omnisphere users.

The launch was in California as Skippy (from Pluginguru) posted that he was on a flight to CA to see it.Harry_HH wrote:I have to say they do it in style.zvenx wrote:

To celebrate the launch, to give the people that worked on it a chance to enjoy and celebrate their hard work, and to have an evening of fun. It's just a nice thing for them, the company.mhog wrote:what's the meaning of that "party"?

One problem I see with this compared to other piano/keyboard focused plugins is that there doesn't seem to be alternate tunings or detuning of individual keys like addictive keys or pianoteq. That would be nice.
