With regard to the Uhbik-X, I was wondering will it have separate patches, that load different effect units designed for processing different sounds, for example vocals.

it could be really good :-o

I heavily rely on contributions here. The main libs of my fx are always designed by Tasmodia, but I'll happily add user contributions. Maybe we can gather some during the public beta testing.

There might also be some new patches for Uhbiks themselves. E.g. I got a set of pretty good interpretations of some famous Lexicon presets for Uhbik-A.

And of course, the fx within Uhbik-X load all the presets of their respective units.

Cool, I appreciate that. I am looking into processing vocals and I have come to rely on the talents of others when it comes to presets in VST's and effects, as a starting point. And I really like the idea of rack effects with a design in purpose, I do not want to bounce from Reason Record to FL Studio, witch to upgrade to would cost about the same as Uhbik, for processing vocals. I like the idea of doing everything in one DAW. SOS had great things to say about your Uhbik-T, I am thinking between that and your Uhbik-D might complement Trance productions and the other effects will help with processing vocals. I will demo these better when I get back to university. Thank you.

I do like the effects in FL Studio, and use them a lot, just looking for something new.

P.S. I use ZebraCM and TripleCheeses, Brilliant synths and sounds, and the people that design sounds for them are amazing, I am beside myself at how nice these synths sound.

I'm wondering: will -X have its own family of 'presets' -- i.e. clusters of individual Uhbiks suited to various tasks -- or will it be simply an interface for all the individual components?

There'll be separate presets for Uhbik-X, containing all the settings of its embedded Uhbiks.

Well, after 64-bit support and stuff.

Along with 64-bit I have tidied up my codebase and restructured some about everything. And updated systems, compilers, tools. Which of course broke a few things (arrrgh). So I'm kind of doing boring stuff at the moment. And I'm looking for an office space, and some analog gear to cheer myself up.

However, once I get into it I think I'll be quick with X. I just need to take my basic prototype, add the different routings/signal splits and dress it up nicely. The audio analysis tools will be the same as in Zebrify. I think I'll add "stock" MSEGs, but maybe offer a merely stepsequencerish mode/interface. Alternatively I could add a snapshot sequencer similar to the one in Bazille. Hmmm...

Later,

;) Urs

Six years later...I guess this project is probably dead.
But I am still waiting in my little corner and hope for a ressurection.

+1, it's one of the reasons I keep my copy of the Uhbiks.

For use of the single Uhbiks, I often miss some modulation capabilities.
