Cool, but I still don't get it: why I shouldn't 'return to Targoviste'?

Me too. But you shouldn't return to Targoviste, if you don't like clowns :hihi:

Ok, I got it now.

Back on topic, I also think Computer Music rules. Sure it's not the deepest or the most neutral, but their Vault and regular plugin offerings are often really good. And you can get a subscription at not much more than $1 per issue if you wait until the next sale.

If CM/PSP were worried about the code being passed around they could easily have come up with a unique code for each reader - they have the vault mechanism in place already to do that. instead they chose an easy universal code and didn't even try to hide it in the small print.
+1

PSP want more sales and CM appreciates getting quoted.

As I see it is a win win situation for both of 'em.

The only users that would object to it is because they paid a couple of bucks for the mag, and want to keep the code for themselves. They don't want everybody to share in the bargain.

And $27 (excluding VAT) is still a bit of money, I doubt any user seeing the code (outside of buying the mag) will automatically rush to PSP and buy the plug.

Who got the best deal on iZotope BreakTweaker at this time?

Without VAT, it costs just about $40 at T+S

Is BreakTweaker something I would even want? I can't actually figure out if it is anything other than a drum machine/beatmaker and I have a lot of those already.

I know, I want to everything when it is on sale, but realistically, I have to start picking and choosing because I never use half the stuff I get. And I actually spend more time playing around with stuff than actually making music. Sigh.

I'd think the best way to get a feel for it is to download the demo and listen to the preset patterns to see if it's doing something that would be a good fit for you. That's what I did back in May and decided it filled a gap for me with the micro-editing stuff.

I think if you only look at it because it is on sale, you don't really need it.

CM review in short "BreakTweaker is outstanding at what it does and genuinely innovative, but it won't be to everybody's taste."

So more for specific than "allround bread and butter" usages

It's a download version. It had previously only been available as a box.
