FM/PM/RM in Sylenth1

I've done some googling and it looks like Sylenth1's potential in these areas is considered nonexistent. While it's admittedly a bit clunky, you can actually get some very neat sounds by setting an LFO to "free" mode, giving it a relatively high rate, and having it modulate an oscillator's pitch, phase, or volume. You can also get neat effects by modulating filter cutoff frequencies. The key to making all of this useful is to turn on key tracking for the LFO rate.

I've had a lot of fun with this, and I'm wondering, am I the only one, or does anybody else have any other tips or tricks along these lines?

Further, it seems like with a couple of small, unobtrusive tweaks, Sylenth1's capabilities here could become first rate. For one, if there was a way to make the LFO's "polyphonic" (i.e. each voice gets its own LFO). As it stands right now, you can only really use these tricks monophonically, they break down if you e.g. play chords for obvious reasons. The trick would be figuring out how to present this option unobtrusively.

Another thing I wonder is how hard would it be to put an actual FM (phase modulation under the hood really) capability into Sylenth1? FM is famously CPU efficient, so it wouldn't be disruptive to performance. I imagine it could be something as simple as making the envelopes and LFO's have a modulation target called "FM A>B", where layer A is used as a modulator and layer B as a carrier. Simply process the two layers as normal, then right before summing them and sending them through the FX chain, FM layer B by layer A. Seems like this would be a very unobtrusive and efficient way to wildly broaden Sylenth1's palette.

If nobody has any idea what I'm talking about I can post some examples. I periodically think about what other synth I should get to complement Sylenth1, and yet I keep coming back and discovering new tricks like this. Not too shabby for a 10 year old VSTi!
